A cooking utensil having a removable grease shield in the form of a screen to protect the hand of the person using it. The utensil includes the usual elongated manipulating device for making contact with the food item involved. At one end of the device appears the usual handle to allow a person to hold it. The shield fits on to the device, extends laterally from it, and provides a barrier to grease droplets or other hot particles that could burn.
