A release surface prepared by treating a glass substrate with dimethyldichlorosilane and trimethylchlorosilane is disclosed, wherein the proportion of trimethylchlorosilane is sufficient to facilitate cleaning or residue from the release surface but insufficient to substantially diminish the release
