Waste water heat transfer apparatus (10) is disclosed in which the waste hot water from residential or commercial uses such as washing, etc., is passed into a separate drain (24) and thence into a heat exchanger (17) which includes a waste water conduit (40) therein, and thence to the sewer drain (29).
