A tent and folding tent framework which enable quick and easy setup and taking down of the tent include a central hub member about which six ribs are pivotable. The hub member or fixed disk is made of plastic material and includes openings which enable the ribs to be easily assembled into the hub. Each rib includes two joints which pivot through 180 degrees. The joints are biased by springs toward the open position and include locking sleeves which are biased toward the locking position.
