An apparatus and method for compensating for asymmetrically produced total engine thrust caused by an engine failure in a multiengine aircraft. The presence of asymmetric total thrust is detected by monitoring aircraft performance parameters, including engine manifold pressures, airspeed, roll angle and yaw.
