A neutral liquid detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: (a) 2-60% by weight of an alkyl glycoside; (b) 0.1-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of less than 5; (c) 0.1-10% by weight of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of not less than 5; and (d) 0.001-8% by weight of one or more water-soluble organic or inorganic salts.
