A handgun storage container is disclosed comprising a box-like enclosure having a base and an operable cover. The container is dimensioned to hold a single handgun of any of a wide variety of types and sizes. A pair of handgun holding fixtures are adjustable located within the container for engaging a handgun at two spaced locations and to precisely locate the handgun within the container.
