A device for detaching the top of the can and draining the fluid contained therein. In the first embodiment, an upper and lower handle are adjustable in relation to one another to account for different can sizes. A conventional can opener is attached to a plunger that includes a magnet. A can is placed on a lower, can bottom engaging member, and the can opener is operated to detach the top of the can.
