This invention pertains to cargo transportation, and more particularly to an apparatus that facilitates loading and unloading of cargo from a vehicle. In accordance with the present invention, a retractable bed for vehicles is provided that is simple in design, can be adapted to different vehicle applications and has greater safety and cargo carrying capacity than prior devices.
