[ We claim:] [1.] An adhesive sheet comprising (1) a backing and (2) an adhesive layer wherein the adhesive layer comprises (a) at least one topologically microstructured surface comprising a plurality of pegs, substantially uniformly distributed and protruding outwardly from an adhesive layer surface, wherein the pegs have tops that are adhesive and comprise less than 25% of the total surface area of the adhesive layer, (b) the adhesive surface layer and (c) an adhesive that has a retained lap shear relaxation stress that exceeds 55% and the adhesive layer has at least two levels of adhesion, an initial contact bond and an application bond, such that the initial contact bond is substantially less than the application bond and such that the contact bond simultaneously changes to the application bond with the application of pressure onto the adhesive sheet.
