Systems and methods for electrical swing natural gas adsorption are described. An apparatus includes a pressure vessel; an electrically conductive gas adsorptive material located within the pressure vessel; and an electric power supply electrically connected to said adsorptive material. The adsorptive material can be a carbon fiber composite molecular sieve (CFCMS). The systems and methods provide advantages in that both a high energy density and a high ratio of delivered to stored gas are provided.

[12.] A method, comprising:introducing gas into a two-chamber storage vessel;passing said gas through a pressure vessel located within said storage vessel;adsorbing said gas on an electrically conductive material positioned within said pressure vessel and electrically connected to an electrical power supply; andpassing said gas to a low pressure tank also located within said storage vessel through a check valve in a bulkhead between said pressure vessel and said low pressure tank.
