A solid combination of compounds capable of being packaged in a single, air tight container, and capable of forming an odor barrier for trapping/blocking odors, especially in relation to a toilet, urinal or other aqueous based waste container/vehicle/pipe/drain is provided, as is a method for its use. The combination comprises (i) a first component comprising an alkaline effervescent compound in solid form, (ii) a second component comprising an acid in solid form, and (iii) an oxidizing agent in solid form, and at least one of the first component and second components comprise a stable foam-forming surfactant in solid form. The first component reacts with the second components to form a stable foam odor barrier which traps/blocks odors.

[ I claim:] [1.] A combination capable of forming an odour barrier comprising a stable foam, the combination comprising:(i) a first component comprising an alkaline effervescent compound in solid form,(ii) a second component comprising an acid in solid form,(iii) an oxidising agent in solid form, and(iv) an activatorwherein at least one of the first component and second component comprises a stable foam-forming surfactant in solid form,the first component reacts with the second component to form a stable foam odour barrier which traps/blocks odours emanating from an aqueous based medium,together with a multi-compartmented air-tight and moisture-tight container,wherein the first component and second component of the combination are packaged in the multi-compartmented air-tight and moisture-tight container, thereby separating the base and acid components in the packaging to prevent reaction, until combination is required to form an odour barrier by addition to an aqueous medium.
