[ What is claimed is:] [1.] A method of manufacturing patterned precast concrete panels comprising:a. pouring wet concrete into a casting form having elongate side rails;b. supporting an elongate roller having a shaped forming surface on said side rails of the casting form;c. driving the elongate roller across a surface of the wet concrete by rotating the elongate roller in a forward direction while simultaneously partially retarding progress of the elongate roller along the surface of the wet concrete so that the elongate roller spins in the wet concrete to shape and smooth the concrete surface.
