[ What is claimed is:] [1.] A method for the production of 3-functionalized propylsilanes by the addition of allyl compounds of the general formula IVEQU H.sub.2 C.dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 X (IV) which X is Cl, Br, I, F, CN, SCN, SH, SR, OH, NRR.sup.1 or OR and R and R.sup.1 signify, both independently of one another, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6) alkyl or (C.sub.3 -C.sub.7) aryl to silanes of the formula VEQU R.sup.2 R.sup.3 R.sup.4 SiH (V) which R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 signify, independently of each other, hydrogen, halogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6) allyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) alkoxy, phenyl, aryl or aralkyl, at reaction temperatures between 0.degree. C. and 200.degree. C. and pressures between 200 mbar and 10 bar and in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the catalyst is a carriered multielement catalyst of which one element is platinum.
