An imine functional addition copolymer containing a plurality of groups of the structure: rein A isR.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having from about 1 to about 10 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is an alkyl or aryl group having from about 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, or R.sub.3 is bonded to R.sub.2 and forms part of a five- or six-membered ring; Y is a divalent linking group having from about 3 to about 15 carbon atoms; B is the residue of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer selected from the group consisting of styrene, butyl acrylate, butyl methacrylate, alpha-methyl styrene, isobornyl methacrylate, and hydroxyethyl acrylate, copolymerized with A; x is about 10 to about 50 percent by weight; and m is about 50 to about 90 percent by weight; based on the total solid weight of monomers used to prepare the copolymer.
