A metallic alloy composition is manufactured into products such as press formed or stamped products or rolled products such as sheet, strip, rod, wire or band by one or more cold working steps with intermediate or final flash annealing. The method can include cold rolling an iron, nickel or titanium aluminide alloy and annealing the cold worked product in a furnace by infrared heating. A method of manufacturing a sheet from an intermetallic alloy composition, comprising steps of:(a) preparing a sheet from a powder having an intermetallic alloy composition;(b) heat treating the sheet by passing the sheet through a furnace such that the sheet is flash annealed for less than one minute; and(c) rolling the sheet to final thickness.
