A sanitary handle cover for a shopping cart comprises a first semi-flexible sheet of a vinyl construction and a second sheet of fabric superimposed thereon and heat bonded thereto. Corresponding lateral edges of first and second sheets define a width dimension that is sufficient such that the sheets may be wrapped about a shopping cart handle bar.
