The container includes an outer wall forming a rim and a slot between the rim edge and the outer wall that is circular and continues without boundaries. The wireless communication device is coupled to the slot to provide the slot antenna for communications. An impedance matching network is additionally provided to make the operating frequency of the slot substantially the same as the operating frequency of the wireless communication device. Alternatively, shorting posts may be placed in the slot to define boundaries of the slot to match the operating frequency of the slot to the operating frequency of the antenna. Variable impedance matching is provided between the wireless communication device and the slot.

A method for transmitting data comprising the acts of: (a) providing n transmission channels, n>1; (b) providing groups of 4-bit pattern to be transported by said channels; (c) distributing each of the group of 4-bit pattern in such a way that bits in each pair of 4-bit pattern are placed on separate ones of the n transmission channels. 10. The method of claim 9 further including the acts of providing clock signals wherein one clock cycle gates each pair of bits on different channels. 11. The method of claim 9 wherein the groups of 4-bit patterns are distributed in round robin manner to the n channels. 12. The method of claim 11 further including the acts of delineating units of information on said separate channels with a pair of framing patterns. 13. The method of claim 12 wherein each of the framing patterns includes "11" pattern. 14. The method of claim 13 wherein the first 4-bit pattern distributed after the "11" framing pattern is distributed in separate transmission channels other than the ones carrying the framing pattern. 15. The method of claim 14 wherein the same clock cycle is used to gate the "11" framing pattern and the first 4-bit pattern. 16. A system including: a source device; a sink device; an interface interconnecting the source device to the sink device, said interface including n transmission channels, n>1; and an encoder that spread bits from an m-bit pattern, m>1 over different ones of the transmission channel. 17. The system of claim 16 wherein each channel is 2 bits wide. 18. A system comprising: n transmission channels, n>1; and an encoder that distributes selected bits from at least one group of m bits, m>1, over different ones of the n transmission channels. 19. The system of claim 1 wherein at least two of the n transmission channels are 2 bits wide.
