The method of claim 6, wherein the frother reagent is glycol-based. 10. The method of claim 6, wherein prior to and during the flotation a total of from about 5 to 50 grams of the frother reagent is added to the ore material per metric ton of the feed of the ore material. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the feed of the ore material comprises a sheet silicate mineral having a natural tendency to float during flotation, and prior to or during the flotation a depressant reagent is added to inhibit floating of the sheet silicate mineral during the flotation. 12. The method of claim 11, wherein the sheet silicate mineral comprises at least one of talc and a talcose mineral. 13. The method of claim 11, wherein the sheet silicate mineral comprises talc. 14. The method of claim 11, wherein in the sheet silicate mineral comprises serpentine. 15. The method of claim 11, wherein the depressant reagent comprises a polysaccharide-based material. 16. The method of claim 11 wherein the depressant reagent comprises a cellulosic material. 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the cellulosic material is carboxymethylcellulose. 18. The method of claim 11 wherein the depressant reagent comprises a starch-based material. 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the starch-based material is a dextrin. 20. The method of claim 1, comprising, after the flotation, separating aqueous liquid of the slurry from solids of the slurry and recycling back to the flotation at least a portion of the aqueous liquid to prepare slurry of additional ore material for the flotation. 21. The method of claim 20, wherein during the flotation, the slurry is substantially free of a dithiophosphate collector. 22. The method of claim 1 comprising, after the flotation, processing the concentrate to separate the platinum group metal from other components in the concentrate to prepare a purified product. 23. The method of claim 22, wherein the processing comprises smelting the flotation concentrate. 24. The method of claim 1, wherein the feed of the ore material comprises a base metal sulfide mineral with which at least a portion of the platinum group metal is associated and the flotation concentrate is enriched in the base metal sulfide mineral relative to the feed of the ore material. 25. The method of claim 24, wherein the base metal sulfide mineral comprises copper-containing sulfide. 26. The method of claim 25 wherein the copper-containing sulfide comprises chalcopyrite. 27. The method of claim 24, wherein the base metal sulfide mineral comprises nickel-containing sulfide. 28. The method of claim 27, wherein the nickel-containing sulfide comprises pentlandite. 29. The method of claim 27, wherein the flotation concentrate comprises at least 1 weight percent nickel. 30. The method of claim 1, wherein the feed of the ore material comprises a base metal sulfide with which at least a portion of the platinum group metal is associated, the base metal sulfide comprising a base metal selected from the group consi
