The container encloses the pacifier while also holding a liquid for cleaning the pacifier. The insert is adapted to clean the nipple and the inside surface of the pacifier base while wet with a cleaning liquid distributed in the container. The insert may have clustered bristles, fingerlike extensions or flocked fibers. The pacifier base cleaning surface may have a convex shape to correspond with the shape of an inside surface of a pacifier base.
