In the storage configuration, a reinforced storage surface is available to support heavy cargo, such as a personal watercraft, an off-road vehicle, or a snowmobile. In the deployed configuration, an enclosed living quarters is available for camping and stowing smaller pieces of cargo. A tent assembly may be erected upon the expandable trailer when the hinged sidewalls are in the deployed configuration. The expandable trailer is adapted to be towed behind a car, light truck, jeep, or other automobile.
