The present invention relates to telecommunications equipment racks including vertical cable guides, horizontal troughs, cross aisle panels and cross-connection modules for telecommunications equipment racks. The vertical cable guides define vertical cable channels for both network infrastructure and cross-connection cables. The structure defining the second cable channel is hingedly attached to the structure defining the first cable channel. The horizontal cable troughs include both upper and lower troughs. The upper cable trough defines two cableways for directing cross-connection and other cables, and provides access openings for cables to pass into and out of each cableway and between the two cableways. The lower cable trough defines a cableway and provides access openings for cables extending into and out of the cableway. Cable troughs attached to adjacently mounted equipment racks cooperate to form continuous horizontal cableways. The cross aisle panel includes movable cable guide structures to permit access to connectors mounted on the panel. The cross-connection modules provide multiple connector planes on the rear of the module to increase the number of circuits the module can support.

The cross-connection module of claim 1, wherein the second set of connectors is adapted to connect with cross-connect jumper cables. 6. The cross-connection module of claim 1, wherein the jack field is adapted to function with patch cords including tip and ring plugs. 7. A cross-connection switching module comprising:a first section including a width, a front face, a rear face and a jack field accessible through the front face;a second section including a width, a front face and a rear face, the front face of the second section attached to the rear face of the first section, and a first plurality of connections on the rear face of the second section;a third section including a width, a front face and a rear face, the front face of the third section attached to the rear face of the second section adjacent to the first plurality of connections, and a second plurality of connections on the rear face of the third section; andthe width of the second section being greater than the width of the third section. 8. The cross-connection module of claim 7, wherein the width of the first section is greater than the width of the second section. 9. The cross-connection module of claim 7, wherein the first plurality of connectors is adapted to connect with network infrastructure cables, the second plurality of connectors is adapted to connect with cross-connect jumper cables, and the jack field is electronically connected with the first and second pluralities of connectors. 10. The cross-connection module of claim 9, wherein the first plurality of connectors are wire-wrap connectors. 11. The cross-connection module of claim 9, wherein the second plurality of connectors are wire-wrap connectors. 12. A telecommunications cross-connection system comprising:a telecommunications equipment rack including a base with a front, a back and opposing sides extending from the from the front to the back, a top with a front, a back and opposing sides extending from the front to the back, and a first vertical frame member and a second vertical frame member extending from the sides of the base to the sides of the top, the first frame member having a first inner surface and the second frame member having an opposing second inner surface;a telecommunications cross-connection module including:a first section including a width, a front face, a rear face and a jack field accessible through the front face of the first section;a second section including a width, a front face and a rear face, the front face of the second section attached to the rear face of the first section, and a first plurality of connections on the rear face of the second section;a third section including a width, a front face and a rear face, the front face of the third section attached to the rear face of the second section adjacent to the first plurality of connections, and a second plurality of connections on the rear face of the third section;the width of the second section being sized to fit between the opposing inner surfaces of the vertical members of the rack and the width of the third section being smaller than the wid th of the second section. 13. The telecommunications cross-connection system of claim 12, wherein a plurality of network infrastructure cables, and a plurality of cross-connect jumper cables extend to the telecommunications equipment rack, the network infrastructure cables connected to the first plurality of connections and the cross-connect jumper cables connected to the second plurality of connectors. 14. A cable support tray for use on a face of a module mounted in an electronic equipment rack, the module having a height and opposing sides adjacent to the face with mounting extensions projecting from the sides, the face including a plurality of connectors to which a plurality of electronic cables may be attached, the cable support tray comprising:mounting hangers including slots which releasably engage the mounting extensions projecting from the sides of the module;a cable support shelf with inner and outer edges, the inner edge connected to the mounting hangers, the shelf extending away from the face below the connectors on the face; andan open sided ring structure on the cable support shelf. 15. The cable support tray of claim 14, wherein the cable support tray includes two open sided ring structures defining a transverse cableway across the cable support shelf. 16. The cable support tray of claim 14, wherein the cable support shelf has an upward extending lip at the outer edge. 17. The cable support tray of claim 16, wherein the cable support tray includes two open sided ring structures, and the lip cooperates with the open sided ring structures to define a transverse cableway across the cable support tray. 18. The cable support tray of claim 14, wherein the cable support tray has an overall height equal to or less than the overall height of the module. 19. A cross-connect module support tray comprising:a base having a first edge and a second edge, and a first end and a second end;an edge bracket positioned at the second edge and defining fastener holes;first and second end brackets, each end bracket positioned at one of the first and second ends;each first and second end bracket defining a C-shape with first and second opposed arms, each opposed arm defining fastener holes, wherein the edge brackets and the first and second end brackets extend transversely to the base.
