The rotary latches have a strike and a catch pivotally mounted in a housing and having an actuator moveably mounted to the housing. Movement of the actuator will move the catch away from the strike and open the rotary latch. Several rotary latches can be operatively connected together by an actuator rod.

A rotary latch, comprising:a housing; a strike pivotally mounting to the housing; a catch pivotally mounted to the housing; biasing means; an actuator; and a reverser; wherein the biasing means biases the strike and catch into locking contact with each other to maintain the strike in a locked position when the rotary latch is locked, and which moves the strike to an open position when the catch is moved out of contact with the strike by movement of the actuator in a first lateral direction, and wherein movement of the actuator in a second lateral direction opposite to the first lateral direction causes the reverser to move the catch away from the strike to open the rotary latch. 2. The rotary latch of claim 1, wherein the strike has a finger and a thumb with a space located therebetween, and wherein the catch has a mouth region to capture the finger of the strike when the finger is in contact with the mouth region, and the catch has a finger which rides against the actuator to cause the catch to pivot when the actuator is moved against it the first lateral direction.3. The rotary latch of claim 2, wherein the housing has slots to slideably receive the actuator therein.4. The rotary latch of claim 3, wherein the actuator has a portion which extends through the housing to permit movement of the actuator from outside of the housing.5. The rotary latch of claim 1, wherein the actuator has a portion which extends through the housing to permit movement of the actuator from outside of the housing.6. The rotary latches of claim 1, wherein the actuator has affixation means for lockably engaging an activation rod therewith.7. The rotary latches of claim 1, wherein the reverser has a lower finger portion which rides on a side of the actuator which is opposite the finger of the catch and an upper catch contact portion, wherein the catch has a slot formed therein and a pin formed thereon, and the reverser is pivotally attached to the housing with a pivot that passes through slot in the catch, wherein movement of the actuator in the second lateral direction causes the reverser to pivot and push on the pin on the catch and move it away from strike.10. A rotary latch, comprising:a housing; an actuator which is moveable in the housing; a reverser; a strike pivotally mounting to the housing, the strike having a finger and a thumb with a space located therebetween; a catch pivotally mounted to the housing, the catch having a mouth region to capture the finger of the strike when the finger is in contact with the mouth; and a spring attached to the strike and the catch to bias them together; wherein the biasing means biases the strike and catch into locking contact with each other to maintain the strike in a locked position when the rotary latch is locked, and which moves the strike to an open position when the catch is moved out of contact with the catch by movement of the actuator in a first lateral direction, and wherein movement of the actuator in a second lateral direction opposite to the first lateral direction causes the reverser to move the catch away from the strike to open the rotary latch. 11. The rotary latches of claim 10, wherein the reverser has a lower finger portion which rides on a side of the actuator which is opposite the finger of the catch and an upper catch contact portion, wherein the catch has a slot formed therein and a pin formed thereon, and the reverser is pivotally attached to the housing with a pivot that passes through slot in the catch, wherein movement of the actuator in the second lateral direction causes the reverser to pivot and push on the pin on the catch and move it away from strike.
