An infusion system for infusing a liquid into a body includes an external infusion device and a remote commander. The external infusion device includes a housing, a receiver, a processor and an indication device. The receiver is coupled to the housing and for receiving remotely generated commands. The processor is coupled to the housing and the receiver to receive remotely generated commands and to control the external infusion device in accordance with the commands. The indication device indicates when a command has been received and indicates when the command is being utilized to control the external infusion device so that the external infusion device is capable of being concealed from view when being remotely commanded. The remote commander includes a commander housing, a keypad for transmitting commands, and a transmitter for transmitting commands to the receiver of the external infusion device.
What is claimed is: 1. An ambulatory infusion system for infusion of a liquid into a body of a user from a reservoir in a non-hospital environment, the ambulatory infusion system comprising: a glucose sensor to generate glucose sensor related information; an external infusion device; and a glucose
What is claimed is: 1. An ambulatory infusion system for infusion of a liquid into a body of a user from a reservoir in a non-hospital environment, the ambulatory infusion system comprising: a glucose sensor to generate glucose sensor related information; an external infusion device; and a glucose meter to generate glucose meter related information that is provided to the external infusion device; the external infusion device comprising: an infusion device drive mechanism to operatively couple with the reservoir to infuse a liquid into a body, an infusion device housing adapted for use on an exterior of the body, wherein the infusion device housing is sized to contain at least a portion of the reservoir, wherein the infusion device drive mechanism is at least partially contained within the infusion device housing, wherein the infusion device drive mechanism operatively couples with the at least a portion of the reservoir within the infusion device housing, and wherein the infusion device housing is capable of being concealed from view on an individual, an infusion device processor that uses the glucose meter related information provided from the glucose meter, an infusion device memory for storing infusion device information related to the external infusion device, an infusion device data receiving mechanism used in conjunction with the infusion device processor to download the glucose sensor related information from the glucose sensor, and an indication device to display at least some of the glucose sensor related information; and wherein the processor uses the downloaded glucose sensor related information from the glucose sensor, the glucose meter related information from the glucose meter and the infusion device information related to the external infusion device to assist the user in making therapy decisions. 2. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 1, wherein the glucose meter related information is provided manually to the external infusion device. 3. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 1, wherein the glucose meter related information is provided by a wireless signal received by the infusion data receiving mechanism. 4. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 3, wherein the wireless signal is an RF wireless signal. 5. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 3, wherein the wireless signal is provided by a remote commander. 6. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 5, wherein the wireless signal is an RF wireless signal. 7. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 1, wherein the glucose sensor related information downloaded from the glucose sensor is provided via a glucose monitor. 8. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 7, wherein the glucose sensor related information is provided as a wireless signal. 9. An ambulatory infusion system according to claim 8, wherein the wireless signal is an RF wireless signal. 10.
