A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and back upon itself, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; an upper course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the upper course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a planar member extending upwardly from a rear edge of the lower shoulder, the planar member, lower shoulder and a portion of the lower course forming a second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along an upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, a projection extending along a lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, and a shoulder, the shoulder positioned above and abutting the upper shoulder of the siding panel. 2. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the upper shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and 10째. 3. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the upper shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 4. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the lower shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and 10째. 5. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the lower shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 6. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the shoulder of the insulating panel is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and 10째. 7. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the shoulder of the insulating panel is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 8. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein a lower surface of the projection is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and 10째. 9. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein a lower surface of the projection is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 10. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the upper shoulder, the lower shoulder, the shoulder of the insulating panel, and a lower surface of the projection each are angled upwardly and inwardly at the same angle. 11. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein a rear surface of the insulating panel is substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem. 12. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the insulating panel includes a recess along a lower rear edge thereof. 13. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein each course is approximately 6 inches high. 14. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein each course is flat. 15. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein each course is slightly concave. 16. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the second downwardly opening channel terminates in a lip extending inwardly and downwardly. 17. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the first upwardly opening channel is substantially U-shaped. 18. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the first downwardly opening channel is substantially U-shaped. 19. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the second upwardly opening channel is substantially U-shaped. 20. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the siding panel is formed of PVC. 21. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the insulating panel is formed of foam. 22. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the insulating panel is formed of EPS. 23. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the nailing hem has a plurality of slots formed therein. 24. The siding panel of claim 1, further comprising at least one additional course and at least one additional shoulder, each additional shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from a lower edge of a corresponding course. 25. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein the upper course and lower course are declinations. 26. The siding panel of claim 1, wherein each of the upper and lower courses comprises a first portion extending downwardly to an upper edge of a second portion angling outwardly and downwardly to an upper edge of a downwardly extending third portion. 27. The siding panel of claim 26, wherein the insulating panel includes an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion including an upper front face angling downwardly and outwardly from the rib to an upper edge of a substantially vertical front face of the upper portion, the lower portion including an upper front face angling downwardly and outwardly from an inner edge of the shoulder to an upper edge of a substantially vertical front face of the lower portion. 28. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and back upon itself, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel and having a plurality of slots formed therein; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; an upper course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the upper course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a planar member extending upwardly from a rear edge of the lower shoulder, the planar member, lower shoulder and a portion of the lower course forming a second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel and terminating in a lip extending inwardly and downwardly; and an insulating panel comprising a rib extending along an upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel; a projection extending along a lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, a lower surface of the projection extending upwardly and inwardly; a recess along a lower rear edge thereof; and a shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from a front surface of the insulating panel, the shoulder positioned above and abutting the upper shoulder of the siding panel, a rear surface of the insulating panel being substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem; wherein the upper shoulder, the lower shoulder, the shoulder of the insulating panel, and a lower surface of the projection each are angled upwardly and inwardly at the same angle. 29. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and back upon itself, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel and having a plurality of slots formed therein; a first arcuate member connected at a first end thereof to the nailing hem and forming a first upwardly opening channel; a second arcuate member connected at a first end thereof to a second end of the first arcuate member and at a second end thereof to an upper edge of an upper course, the first arcuate member, the second arcuate member and an upper portion of the upper course forming a first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from a lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a planar member extending upwardly from a rear edge of the lower shoulder, the planar member, lower shoulder and a portion of the lower course forming a second upwardly opening channel; and a third arcuate member connected at a first end thereof to an upper edge of the planar member and forming a second downwardly opening channel, the third arcuate member terminating in a downwardly and rearwardly extending lip; and an insulating panel comprising a rib extending along an upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel; a projection extending along a lower edge thereof, the projection being received by the second upwardly opening channel; a shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly, the shoulder being positioned above and abutting the upper shoulder; and a recess formed along a lower rear edge thereof. 30. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and back upon itself, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; a course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the course; a planar member extending upwardly from a rear edge of the shoulder, the planar member, shoulder and a portion of the course forming a second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along an upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, a projection extending along a lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, and a shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from a front edge of the projection. 31. The siding panel of claim 30, wherein the shoulder of the siding panel, and the shoulder of the insulating panel extend inwardly and upwardly at the same angle. 32. The siding panel of claim 30, wherein the shoulder of the siding panel, and the shoulder of the insulating panel extend inwardly and upwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and 10째. 33. The siding panel of claim 30, wherein the shoulder of the siding panel, and the shoulder of the insulating panel extend inwardly and upwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 34. The siding panel of claim 30, wherein a rear surface of the insulating panel is substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem. 35. The siding panel of claim 30, wherein the insulating panel includes a recess along a lower rear edge thereof. 36. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and downwardly, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; an upper course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the upper course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a second upwardly opening channel connected to the lower edge of the lower course, the lower shoulder forming a portion of the second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along a front upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, a projection extending along a front lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, and a shoulder positioned above the upper shoulder of the siding panel. 37. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the upper shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and approximately 10째. 38. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the upper shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 39. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the lower shoulder is angled upwardly and inwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and approximately 10째. 40. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the insulating panel is formed of EPS. 59. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the nailing hem has a plurality of slots formed therein. 60. The siding panel of claim 36, further comprising at least one additional course and at least one additional shoulder, each additional shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from a lower edge of a corresponding course. 61. The siding panel of claim 60, in which a surface of the insulating panel substantially conforms to a contour of the courses and shoulders of the siding panel. 62. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein the upper course and lower course are declinations. 63. The siding panel of claim 36, wherein each of the upper and lower courses comprises a first portion extending downwardly to an upper edge of a second portion, the second portion angling outwardly and downwardly to an upper edge of a downwardly extending third portion. 64. The siding panel of claim 63, wherein the insulating panel includes an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion including an upper front face angling downwardly and outwardly from the rib to an upper edge of a substantially vertical front face of the upper portion, the lower portion including an upper front face angling downwardly and outwardly from an inner edge of the shoulder to an upper edge of a substantially vertical front face of the lower portion. 65. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem folded outwardly and downwardly, forming a lateral edge of the siding panel; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; a course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the course; a second upwardly opening channel connected to the lower edge of the course; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along an upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, and a projection extending along a lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel. 66. The siding panel of claim 65, wherein the shoulder of the siding panel extends inwardly and upwardly at an angle of between approximately 5째 and approximately 10째. 67. The siding panel of claim 65, wherein the shoulder of the siding panel extends inwardly and upwardly at an angle of approximately 7째. 68. The siding panel of claim 65, wherein the shoulder and a lower surface of the projection each are angled upwardly and inwardly at the same angle. 69. The siding panel of claim 65, wherein a rear surface of the insulating panel is substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem. 70. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; an upper course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the upper course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly and upwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a second upwardly opening channel connected to the lower edge of the lower course, the lower shoulder forming a portion of the second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along a front upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, a projection extending along a front lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, and a shoulder positioned above the upper shoulder of the siding panel. 72. The siding panel of claim 71, wherein the upper shoulder, the lower shoulder, the shoulder of the insulating panel, and a lower surface of the projection each are angled upwardly and inwardly at approximately the same angle. 73. The siding panel of claim 71, wherein a rear surface of the insulating panel is substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem. 74. The siding panel of claim 71, wherein the insulating panel includes a recess along a lower rear edge thereof. 75. The siding panel of claim 71, wherein the nailing hem has a plurality of slots formed therein. 76. The siding panel of claim 71, in which a surface of the insulating panel substantially conforms to a contour of the courses and shoulders of the siding panel. 77. A siding panel assembly comprising, in combination: a siding panel comprising a nailing hem; a first upwardly opening channel connected to the nailing hem; a first downwardly opening channel connected to the first upwardly opening channel; an upper course having an upper edge and a lower edge, an upper portion of the upper course forming a portion of the first downwardly opening channel; a lower course having an upper edge and a lower edge; an upper shoulder extending inwardly from the lower edge of the upper course to the upper edge of the lower course; a lower shoulder extending inwardly from the lower edge of the lower course; a second upwardly opening channel connected to the lower edge of the lower course, the lower shoulder forming a portion of the second upwardly opening channel; and a second downwardly opening channel connected to the second upwardly opening channel; and an insulating panel having a rib extending along a front upper edge thereof, the rib being received in the first downwardly opening channel, a projection extending along a front lower edge thereof, the projection being received in the second upwardly opening channel, and a shoulder positioned above the upper shoulder of the siding panel. 78. The siding panel of claim 77, wherein a rear surface of the insulating panel is substantially flush with a rear surface of the nailing hem. 79. The siding panel of claim 77, wherein the insulating panel includes a recess along a lower rear edge thereof. 80.
