A method for freezing a biopharmaceutical material, the method comprising: inserting a biopharmaceutical material holding container into a cavity of a temperature control unit; moving at least one contacting surface in the cavity to contact the container to inhibit a clearance between the container and the at least one contacting surface; and thermally coupling the biopharmaceutical material holding container to at least one heat transfer surface in response to the at least one contacting surface contacting the container. ...
