A hand-held power tool with a housing with a handle arranged along an axis, a trigger disposed in the housing and configured to operate the hand-held power tool, first and second sets of guide tracks coupled to one of the housing and the trigger and first and second sets of guides coupled to the other. The trigger, which includes a contact surface that is configured to be contacted by a finger of a user of the hand-held power tool, is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The first and second sets of guide tracks guide the first and second sets of guides, respectively, such that movement of the trigger from the extended position to the retracted position causes the contact surface to move in a substantially constant direction having a first directional component and a second directional component, the first directional component being generally perpendicular to the axis of the handle and the second directional component being generally parallel to the axis of the handle.

What is claimed is: 1. A hand-held tool comprising: a housing that defines a handle that is arranged along an axis; a trigger for operating the hand-held power tool, the trigger being disposed in the housing and including a contact surface, the contact surface being configured to be contacted by a finger of a user of the hand-held power tool, the trigger being movable between an extended position and a retracted position; first and second sets of guide tracks coupled to one of the housing and the trigger; and first and second sets of guides coupled to the other one of the housing and the trigger; wherein the first and second sets of guide tracks guide the first and second sets of guides, respectively, such that movement of the trigger from the extended position to the retracted position causes the contact surface to move in a substantially constant direction having a first directional component and a second directional component, the first directional component being generally perpendicular to the axis of the handle and the second directional component being generally parallel to the axis of the handle. 2. The hand-held tool of claim 1, wherein the housing includes a pair of housing shells. 3. The hand-held tool of claim 2, wherein the first set of guides includes a pair of pins, each of the pins being disposed on an opposite side of the trigger. 4. The hand-held tool of claim 3, wherein the first set of guide tracks includes a pair of wall members, each wall member being integrally formed with the one of the housing and the trigger. 5. The hand-held tool of claim 4, wherein at least one of the wall members encloses an area in which an associated one of the pins is disposed. 6. The hand-held tool of claim 5, wherein the second set of guides includes a pair of pins, each of the pins of the second set of guides being disposed on an opposite side of the trigger. 7. The hand-held tool of claim 6, wherein the second set of guide tracks includes a pair of wall members, each of the wall members of the second set of guide tracks being integrally formed with the one of the housing and the trigger. 8. The hand-held tool of claim 7, wherein at least one of the wall members of the second set of guide tracks encloses an area in which an associated one of the pins of the second set of guides is disposed. 9. The hand-held tool of claim 1, further comprising a motor, the trigger being operable for at least partially activating the motor. 10. The hand-held tool of claim 9, wherein the motor is an electric motor. 11. A hand-held power tool comprising: a housing defining a handle and first and second sets of guide tracks; a motor; a trigger switch coupled to the motor and housed in the housing; and a trigger disposed in the housing, the trigger including a contact surface, a first set of guides and a second set of guides, the contact surface being configured to be contacted by a finger of a user of the power tool, the trigger being movable between an extended position and a retracted position; wherein the first and second sets of guide tracks guide the first and second sets of guides, respectively, such that movement of the trigger from the extended position to the retracted position causes the contact surface to move in a substantially constant direction having a first directional component and a second directional component, the first directional component being generally perpendicular to the axis of the handle and the second directional component being generally parallel to the axis of the handle. 12. The hand-held power tool of claim 11, wherein the first set of guides includes a pair of pins, each of the pins extending from an opposite lateral side of the trigger. 13. The hand-held power tool of claim 12, wherein the first set of guide tracks includes a pair of wall members that are integrally formed with the housing. 14. The hand-held power tool of claim 13, wherein at least one of the wall members encloses an area in which an associated one of the pins is disposed. 15. The hand-held power tool of claim 14, wherein the second set of guides includes a pair of pins, each of the pins of the second set of guides extending from an opposite lateral side of the trigger. 16. The hand-held power tool of claim 15, wherein the second set of guide tracks includes a pair of wall members that are integrally formed with the housing. 17. The hand-held power tool of claim 16, wherein at least one of the wall members of the second set of guide tracks encloses an area in which an associated one of the pins of the second set of guides is disposed. 18. The hand-held power tool of claim 11, further comprising a spring that is coupled to the trigger and which biases the trigger into the extended position. 19. The hand-held power tool of claim 18, wherein the spring is a compression spring. 20. The hand-held power tool of claim 19, wherein one of the trigger and the housing includes a spring mount over which the compression spring is mounted. 21. The hand-held power tool of claim 11, wherein the trigger further comprises a switch arm that is operable changing a state of the trigger switch when the trigger is moved between the extended and retracted positions.
