A power generation system according to claim 1, further equipped with a rotor position calculator for calculating the information relating to the rotor position, wherein the rotor position calculator calculated the information relating to the rotor position based on the voltage of the stator winding detected by the voltage detector for detecting the voltage of the stator winding, current of the stator winding detected by the current detector for detecting the current of the stator winding, and current of the rotor winding detected by the current detector for detecting the current of the rotor winding.
