A cutter including a base, a holder, a cutter blade portion, and a laser generator. The holder is supported on the base portion in an upright posture. The cutter blade portion supports a moving blade. The cutter blade portion is supported on the holder movable between an upper position and a lower position. A cutter comprising: a base for supporting a workpiece; a holder supported on the base portion; a cutter blade portion adapted for supporting a blade that cuts the workpiece, the cutter blade portion being supported on the holder so as to be movable between an upper position and a lower position, the cutter blade portion being closer to the base in the lower position than in the upper position, the blade having a rotation axis and two side surfaces; a laser generator that irradiates laser light to be shown onto the workpiece, the laser generator having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side; and a laser generator support portion supporting the laser generator, the laser generator support portion having a first wall and a second wall in confrontation with the first wall, wherein the laser generator is disposed between the first wall and the second wall, the laser generator being movable in a moving direction parallel to the rotation axis with a first movable range defined by the first and the second walls; a first stop member extending through the first wall, for defining a second movable range of the laser generator in the moving direction, between the first stop member and the second wall, the first stop member being abuttable on the first side of the laser generator in order to retain the laser generator at a position at which the laser light is substantially aligned with one of the two side surfaces; and a position maintaining member associated with the laser generator for maintaining position of the laser generator so that the laser generator does not always contact the first stop member. 2. The cutter as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a second stop member extending through and supported by the second wall for adjusting the second movable range of the laser generator, the second side of the laser generator being abuttable on the second stop member in order to retain the laser generator at another position at which the laser light is substantially aligned with the other of the two side surfaces, wherein the position maintaining member maintains the position of the laser generator so that the laser generator does not always contact the second stop member. 3. The cutter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first stop member comprises a screw member screwingly fitted in the first wall with a tip of the screw member being abuttable against the first side of the laser generator. 4. The cutter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the position maintaining member comprises a resilient member interposed between the second wall and the second side for urging the laser generator toward the first stop member. 5. The cutter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first stop member comprises a screw member extending through the first wall and threaded into the first side, the screw member being freely rotatable with respect to the first wall; and wherein the position maintaining member comprises a resilient member for urging the laser generator in a direction away from the first wall. 6. The cutter as claimed in claim 2, wherein the first stop member comprises a screw member screwingly fitted in the first wall with a tip of the screw member being abuttable against the first side of the laser generator. 7. A cutter comprising: a base for supporting a workpiece; a holder supported on the base portion; a cutter blade portion adapted for supporting a blade that cuts the workpiece, the cutter blade portion being supported on the holder so as to be movable between an upper position and a lower position, the cutter blade portion being closer to the base in the lower position than in the upper position, the blade having a rotation axis and two side surfaces; a laser generator that irradiates laser light to be shown onto the workpiece, the laser generator having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side; and a laser generator support portion supporting the laser generator, the laser generator support portion having a first wall and a second wall in confrontation with the first wall, wherein the laser generator is disposed between the first wall and the second wall, the laser generator being movable in a moving direction parallel to the rotation axis within a first movable range defined by the first and the second walls; a first stop member extending through the first wall for adjusting a second movable range of the laser generator in the moving direction; a second stop member extending through and supported by the second wall for adjusting the second movable range of the laser generator, each of the first stop member and the second stop member being abuttable on the laser generator in order to retain the laser generator at a position at which the laser light is substantially aligned with a corresponding one of the two side surfaces; the second movable range of the laser generator being defined by the first and the second stop members; and a screw-threaded member, extending through said laser generator support portion, and screwingly fitted in the laser generator to move the laser generator in the second movable range so that the laser generator does not always contact the first stop member and does not always contact the second stop member. 8. The cutter as claimed in claim 7, wherein the first stop member comprises a screw member screwingly fitted in the first wall with a tip of the screw member being abuttable against the first side of the laser generator. 9. The cutter as claimed in claim 8, wherein the second stop member comprises a second screw member screwingly fitted in the second wall with a tip of the second screw member being abuttable against the second side of the laser generator. 10. The cutter as claimed in claim 7, wherein the second stop member comprises a screw member screwingly fitted in the second wall with a tip of the screw member being abuttable against the second side of the laser generator. 11. The cutter as claimed in claim 7, wherein said first and second stop members are disposed so as to restrict the movement of the laser generator in the thickness direction. 12. The cutter as claimed in claim 11, wherein said first and second stop members restrict the movement of the laser generator within a predetermined adjustable range. 13. The cutter as claimed in claim 7, wherein said screw-threaded member is disposed so that a longitudinal axis thereof extends in a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of said first and second stop members. 14. The cutter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the holder includes a slide shaft support portion, the cutter further comprising: at least one slide shaft extending through the slide shaft support portion and slidably movable in a frontward and a rearward direction with respect to the slide shaft support portion, the at least one slide shaft having a front end; and a hinge holder fixed to the front end of the at least one slide shaft, the hinge holder having a front side, wherein the cutter blade portion is supported on the hinge holder.
