The system of claim 1, wherein the processing circuitry is configured to set a threshold of the hard imaging device to configure the hard imaging device, and wherein the threshold is monitored with respect to a hard imaging operation of the hard imaging device to form the hard image. 18. The system of claim 17, wherein the processing circuitry is configured to set the threshold of a consumable consumed by the hard imaging device to form the hard image, and a status of the consumable is monitored with respect to the threshold during imaging operations of the hard imaging device to form the hard image. 19. A hard imaging device configuration method comprising: obtaining information regarding a hard imaging device using a host device, wherein the host device and the hard imaging device are coupled with a network, and wherein the host device, the hard imaging device and the network are located inside a firewall; after the obtaining and using the host device, outputting the information externally of the firewall to an entity configured to use the information to provide configuration data which is usable to configure the hard imaging device; after the outputting, receiving a communication using the network inside the firewall, wherein the communication comprises the configuration data which is usable to configure the hard imaging device; and using the configuration data, configuring the hard imaging device. 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the configuration data is derived from the information. 21. The method of claim 19, further comprising: receiving a discovery mechanism from the entity located outside of the firewall, and using the host device, discovering the presence of the hard imaging device coupled with the network using the discovery mechanism. 22. The method of claim 19, wherein the configuring comprises configuring using the host device. 23. The method of claim 22, wherein the receiving comprises receiving using the host device and wherein the communication comprises a hot link and the host device is configured to establish a connection with an embedded web server of the hard imaging device using the hot link to implement the configuring. 24. The method of claim 23, wherein the configuring comprises interacting the configuration data with the embedded web server. 25. The method of claim 24, wherein the configuration data comprises XML configuration data configured to interact with the embedded web server to set a threshold of the hard imaging device which is monitored with respect to a consumable used by the hard imaging device to form a hard image. 26.
