A bag gripper for receiving handles of shopping bags for simultaneous, manual carrying of the shopping bags, the bag gripper comprising: a body comprising a top, bottom and a central stanchion, the central stanchion extending between and connecting the top and the bottom, the top defining a handle and the bottom defining a stationary jaw and a moveable jaw for receiving therebetween handles of shopping bags, the stationary jaw defining a plurality of peaks and valleys, and the moveable jaw pivotally attached to the body and movable between a first position, wherein loading of bag handles on the stationary jaw is accommodated, and a second position, wherein unloading of the bag handles from the stationary jaw is accommodated, whereby multiple bag handles are maintainable separately within the valleys; wherein the movable jaw defines a series of peaks and valleys that correspond to the peaks and valleys defined by the stationary jaw; and wherein the peaks of the movable jaw contact the peaks of the stationary jaw, when the jaws are closed to secure bag handles, to define between adjacent, engaged peaks openings for receipt therethrough of bag handles. 2. The bag gripper of claim 1, wherein the body includes opposite ends, and further comprising a shoulder strap, the shoulder strap attached to the body at a location proximate one of the ends of the body, and wherein the body is configured to receive a handle of a bag proximate the other end of the body. 3. The bag gripper of claim 1, further comprising a light incorporated into the body of the bag gripper. 4. The bag gripper of claim 3, wherein the light is located proximate an end of the body. 5. The bag gripper of claim 4, wherein a switch that is operatively connected to the light for actuating the light is located proximate an opposite end of the body relative to the light. 6. The bag gripper of claim 1, wherein the body is generally C-shaped in profile. 7. The bag gripper of claim 1, wherein the body is injection molded. 8. A bag gripper for receiving handles of shopping bags for simultaneous, manual carrying of the shopping bags, the bag gripper comprising: (a) a body comprising a top, bottom and a central stanchion, the central stanchion extending between and connecting the top and the bottom, the top defining a handle and the bottom defining a stationary jaw and a move able jaw for receiving therebetween handles of shopping bags; (b) a shoulder strap attached to the body at opposite ends thereof; and (c) a light incorporated into the body; (d) wherein the moveable jaw is pivotally attached to the body and movable between a first position, wherein loading of bag handles on the stationary jaw is accommodated, and a second position, wherein unloading of the bag handles from the stationary jaw is accommodated; (e) wherein the stationary jaw defines a plurality of peaks and valleys, whereby multiple bag handles are maintainable separately within the valleys; (f) wherein the movable jaw defines a series of peaks and valleys that correspond to the peaks and valleys defined by the stationary jaw; and (g) wherein the peaks of the movable jaw contact the peaks of the stationary jaw, when the jaws are closed to secure bag handles, to define between adjacent, engaged peaks openings for receipt therethrough of bag handles. 9. The bag gripper of claim 8, wherein the light is located proximate an end of the body. 10. The bag gripper of claim 9, wherein a switch that is operatively connected to the light for actuating the light is located proximate an opposite end of the body relative to the light. 11. The bag gripper of claim 8, wherein the body is generally C-shaped in profile. 12. The bag gripper of claim 8, wherein the body is injection molded.
