To expand or contract the sleeping bag in width, one or more additional tapes of zipper teeth are sewn to the front of the garment adjacent to, and parallel to, the regular zipper. To expand or contract the sleeping bag in length, a pair of parallel zippers permits the removal or insertion of a length expansion strip extending around the circumference of the sleeping bag.

A sleeping bag comprising: a blanket body having respective first and second side edges and a bottom edge; a first row of fasteners attached to said first side edge of said blanket body; a second row of fasteners attached to said second side edge of said blanket body, said second row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; a third row of fasteners attached to said bottom edge of said blanket body; at least one length expansion strip removably attached to the blanket body and having respective first and second edges, said first edge being substantially equal to said bottom edge of said blanket body, said first edge of said length expansion strip having a fourth row of fasteners, said fourth row of fasteners mesh with said third row of fasteners to attach the length expansion strip to the blanket body; a fifth row of fasteners attached to said second edge of said length expansion strip; and a bottom piece removably attached to the at least one length expansion strip having respective first and second edges, said first edge being substantially equal to said second edge of said length expansion strip, said bottom piece having a sixth row of fasteners attached to said first edge thereof, said sixth row of fasteners mesh with said fifth row of fasteners to attach the bottom piece to the at least one length expansion strip, said second edge of said bottom piece having a plurality of fasteners attached thereto so as to seal one portion of said second edge of said bottom piece to another portion of said second edge of said bottom piece. 2. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 1, further including a seventh row of fasteners attached to said blanket body substantially parallel to said second row of fasteners. 3. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 2, wherein said seventh row of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 4. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 1, wherein said first, second, third and fourth rows of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 5. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 1, wherein said fifth and sixth rows of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 6. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 1, wherein the blanket body further comprises a top portion, opposite the bottom edge and having a hood. 7. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 1, wherein said plurality of fasteners along said second edge of said bottom piece comprise hook and loop fasteners. 8. A sleeping bag comprising: a blanket body having respective first and second side edges and a bottom edge; a first row of fasteners attached to said first side edge of said blanket body; a second row of fasteners attached to said second side edge of said blanket body, said second row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; a third row of fasteners attached to said bottom edge of said blanket body; a bottom piece removably attached to the blanket body and having respective first and second edges, said bottom piece having a fourth row of fasteners attached to said first edge thereof, said fourth row of fasteners mesh with said third row of fasteners to attach the bottom piece to the blanket body, said second edge of said bottom piece having a plurality of fasteners attached thereto so as to seal one portion of said second edge of said bottom piece to another portion of said second edge of said bottom piece; a length expansion strip being interposed between said blanket body and said bottom piece to increase the length of said sleeping bag; said length expansion strip having respective first and second edges, said first edge thereof being substantially equal to said bottom edge of said blanket body, said second edge thereof being substantially equal to said first edge of said bottom piece, said first edge of said length expansion strip having a fifth row of fasteners, said second edge of said length expansion strip having a sixth row of fasteners; and said fifth row of fasteners mesh with said third row of fasteners on said blanket body to removably attach the length expansion strip to the blanket body, and said sixth row of fasteners mesh with said fourth row of fasteners on said bottom piece to removably attach the length expansion strip to the bottom piece. 9. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 8, wherein said plurality of fasteners along said second edge of said of said bottom piece comprise hook and loop fasteners. 10. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 8, wherein said first, second, third and fourth rows of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 11. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 8, wherein said fifth and sixth rows of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 12. A sleeping bag comprising: a blanket body having inner and outer surfaces, respective first and second side edges and a bottom edge; a first row of fasteners attached to said first side edge of said blanket body; a second row of fasteners attached to the outer surface at a first distance from said second side edge of said blanket body, said second row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; said blanket body further including a third row of fasteners attached to the outer surface at a second distance, greater than the first distance, from said second side edge of said blanket body substantially parallel to said second row of fasteners, said third row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; a fourth row of fasteners attached to said bottom edge of said blanket body; at least one length expansion strip removably attached to the blanket body and having respective first and second edges, said first edge thereof being substantially equal to said bottom edge of said blanket body, said first edge of said length expansion strip having a fifth row of fasteners, said fifth row of fasteners mesh with said fourth row of fasteners to removably attach the length expansion strip to the blanket body, said length expansion strip having a sixth row of fasteners attached to said second edge of said length expansion strip; said length expansion strip further having respective first and second side edges, a seventh row of fasteners attached adjacent to said first side edge of said length expansion strip, an eighth row of fasteners attached adjacent to said second side edge of said length expansion strip said seventh row of fasteners mesh with said eighth row of fasteners; and said length expansion strip further including a ninth row of fasteners attached to said length expansion strip substantially parallel to said eighth row of fasteners, said seventh row of fasteners mesh with said ninth row of fasteners. 13. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 12, wherein said first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth rows of fasteners comprise respective tapes of zipper teeth. 14. A sleeping bag comprising: a blanket body having inner and outer surfaces, respective first and second side edges and a bottom edge; a first row of fasteners attached to said first side edge of said blanket body; a second row of fasteners attached to the outer surface at a first distance from said second side edge of said blanket body, said second row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; said blanket body further including a third row of fasteners attached to the outer surface at a second distance, greater than the first distance, from said second side edge of said blanket body substantially parallel to said second row of fasteners, said third row of fasteners mesh with said first row of fasteners; and a bottom piece haying respective first and second edges, said first edge being substantially equal to said second edge of said length expansion strip, said bottom piece haying a tenth row of fasteners attached to said first edge thereof that mesh with said sixth row of fasteners on said length expansion strip, said second edge of said bottom piece haying a plurality of fasteners attached thereto so as to seal one portion of said second edge of said bottom piece to another portion of said second edge of said bottom piece. 15. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 14, wherein the blanket body further comprises a top portion, opposite the bottom edge and having a hood. 16. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 14, wherein said tenth row of fasteners comprises respective tapes of zipper teeth. 17. A sleeping bag in accordance with claim 14, wherein said plurality of fasteners along said second edge of said of said bottom piece comprise hook and loop fasteners.
