The invention claimed is: 1. A device comprising: an aperture element positioned within a primary optical facility having a center axis, the aperture element including three apertures positioned non-collinearly, each one of the apertures selectively transmitting a portion of an optical wave front of the primary optical facility, thereby providing three optical channels; one or more sensors positioned to capture each of the three optical channels, thereby providing three images; and a processor adapted to determine displacement of object features between the three images using image registration. 2. The device of claim 1 wherein the one or more sensors are adapted for concurrent capture of each of the three images. 3. The device of claim 1 wherein one of the one or more sensors is positioned to capture a reference image independent of object depth. 4. The device of claim 3 wherein the one or more sensors are adapted for concurrent capture of each of the three images. 5. The device of claim 1 wherein one of the three apertures is a center aperture positioned on the center axis. 6. The device of claim 1 wherein the three apertures are substantially equally spaced apart. 7. The device of claim 1 wherein the aperture element includes one or more of a moving plate, an electronic aperture, a shutter, a shuttering aperture, an oscillating aperture, a flipping mirror, a rotating mirror, and a digital light processor. 8. A device comprising an aperture element positioned within a primary optical facility of a triplet imaging system having a center axis, the aperture element including three apertures positioned non-collinearly, each one of the apertures selectively transmitting a portion of an optical wave front of the primary optical facility, thereby providing three optical channels, each carrying a separate image to a sensor, the separate image encoding disparity of object features for use in image triplet processing by the triplet imaging system, wherein one of the three apertures is a center aperture positioned on the center axis. 9. The device of claim 8 wherein the three apertures are substantially equally spaced apart. 10. The device of claim 8 wherein the three apertures form a right angle. 11. The device of claim 8 wherein the aperture element includes one or more of a moving plate, an electronic aperture, a shutter, a shuttering aperture, an oscillating aperture, a flipping mirror, a rotating mirror, and a digital light processor. 12. A device comprising an aperture element positioned within a primary optical facility of a triplet imaging system having a center axis, the aperture element including three apertures positioned non-collinearly, each one of the apertures selectively transmitting a portion of an optical wave front of the primary optical facility, thereby providing three optical channels, each carrying a separate image to a sensor, the separate image encoding disparity of object features for use in image triplet processing by the triplet imaging system, further comprising a fourth aperture, the fourth aperture positioned on the center axis. 13. The device of claim 12 wherein the three apertures are substantially equally spaced apart. 14. The device of claim 12 wherein the aperture element includes one or more of a moving plate, an electronic aperture, a shutter, a shuttering aperture, an oscillating aperture, a flipping mirror, a rotating mirror, and a digital light processor. 15. A device comprising an aperture element positioned within a primary optical facility having a center axis, the aperture element including three apertures positioned non-collinearly, each one of the apertures selectively transmitting a portion of an optical wave front of the primary optical facility wherein one of the three apertures is a center aperture positioned on the center axis, thereby providing three optical channels carrying three images to one or more sensors adapted for instantaneous capture of each of the three images, further comprising a processor adapted to determine displacement of object features between the three images using image registration. 16.
