An energy storage cell pack cradle assembly for holding multiple rows of energy storage cells oriented along a dominant axis of vibration includes a first cradle member including a plurality of energy storage cell body supporting structures including respective holes; a second cradle member including a plurality of energy storage cell body supporting structures including respective holes; and one or more fasteners connecting the first cradle member and the second cradle member together. The energy storage cell body supporting structures are configured to structurally support the energy storage cells, with the energy storage cells oriented along a dominant axis of vibration, by energy storage cell bodies of the energy storage cells with respective electrically conductive terminals extending through the respective holes without structural support of the electrically conductive terminals by the cradle members.

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and the second array of energy storage cell body support structures is further configured to secure its respective end portions from movement in a first and a second axis, orthogonal to each other; and, wherein, upon mechanically coupling the first and the second array of energy storage cell body support structures together, the plurality of energy storage cells are secured from movement in a third axis orthogonal to the first and the second axis. 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first and the second array of energy storage cell body supporting structures are configured to cup the first and the second end portions of the energy storage cells, respectively, and structurally support the body of the energy storage cells without loading their first terminals. 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the first and the second array of energy storage cell body supporting structures are made of a flexible material and are formed slightly smaller than the first and second end portions, providing a secure fit when mated with each of the plurality of energy storage cells, respectively. 5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising at least one mounting point such that the plurality of energy storage cells are oriented in the dominant axis of vibration relative to the hybrid electric vehicle. 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first cradle member is an upper cradle member, the second cradle member is a lower cradle member, the dominant axis of vibration is vertical, and the first and second array of energy storage cell body support structures are configured to structurally support and orient the energy storage cells by their respective energy storage cell bodies in a vertical orientation. 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first and the second array of energy storage cell body support structures are aligned such that the plurality of energy storage cells, when installed, are within 0.50 in of each other. 8. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and the second cradle members wrap around the sides of the plurality of energy storage cells and couple to each other. 9. The apparatus of claim 8, further comprising a flange circumferentially extending from a periphery of the first and the second cradle members; wherein the mechanical couple connects the first cradle member and the second cradle member together via the flange. 10. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the first and the second cradle members are further configured to direct a coolant flow across the first terminals of the plurality of energy storage cells. 11. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the first and the second cradle members enclose substantially all of the plurality of energy storage cells except their first terminal and any other electrically conductive terminals, which extend through their respective first and the second cradle members. 12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first and the second cradle members are each formed from a single sheet having the first and the second array of energy storage cell body support structures integrated therein, respectively. 13. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising support legs extending from at least one of the first and the second cradle member. 14. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising at least one intermediate member configured to interface between the first and the second cradle member. 15. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first and the second cradle member are kept apart and do not generally enclose the plurality of energy storage cells. 16. A method of supporting a plurality of energy storage cells in a hybrid electric vehicle, each of the plurality of energy storage cells having a first terminal, a first end portion, a second terminal, and a second end portion opposite the first end portion, the method comprising inserting the plurality of energy storage cells into a first cradle member so that the end portions of the energy storage cells are supportably cupped by a first array of energy storage cell body support structures with the respective first terminals passing through the first cradle member; adding a second cradle member onto the energy storage cells so that the second end portions of the energy storage cells are supportably cupped by a second array of energy storage cell body support structures with the respective second terminals passing through the second cradle member; mechanically coupling the second cradle member to the first cradle member such that the plurality of energy storage cells, the first cradle member, and the second cradle member form a single energy storage pack; electrically coupling the plurality of energy storage cells to each other; and, mounting the single energy storage pack on to the hybrid electric vehicle such that the energy storage cells are oriented along a dominant axis of vibration of the hybrid electric vehicle. 17. An system for securing a plurality of energy storage cells in a hybrid electric vehicle, each of the plurality of energy storage cells having a first terminal, a first end portion, and a second end portion opposite the first end portion, the system comprising: a first cradle member including a first array of energy storage cell body support structures configured to support each first end portion and to provide access to each first terminal of the plurality of energy storage cells, respectively; a second cradle member including a second array of energy storage cell body support structures configured to support each second end portion of the plurality of energy storage cells, respectively; and, a mechanical couple connecting the first cradle member and the second cradle member together; a plurality of electrical bridging devices that electrically connect a plurality of the first terminals between adjacent energy storage cells; and, a plurality of terminal cooling devices, each having a terminal interface configured to mechanically and thermally couple the terminal cooling device to the plurality of first terminals, each terminal cooling device also having a heat exchanger configured to convectively transfer heat away from the first terminal of its respective coupled energy storage cell, and further configured to mechanically couple one end of one of the plurality of the electrical bridging devices to its respective coupled energy storage cell.
