A channel for managing equipment cables that includes opposing first and second members and a third member extending between and connecting the first and second members. Each of the first and second members includes first and second inner and outer surfaces. At least one cable receiving area is defined between the first and second inner surfaces of the first and second members. First and second equipment mounting elements extend from each of the first and second outer surfaces of the first and second members. The first and second equipment mounting elements are connectable to equipment. A base support is coupled to at least one of the first and second members.

What is claimed is: 1. A channel for managing equipment and equipment cables, comprising: opposing first and second members and a third member extending between and connecting said first and second members, each of said first and second members including first and second inner and outer surfaces, respectively; at least one first cable receiving area defined between said first and second inner surfaces of said first and second members and a first side of said third member; at least one second cable receiving area between said first and second inner surface of said first and second members and a second side of said third member; first and second equipment mounting elements extending from each of said first and second outer surfaces of said first and second members, said first and second equipment mounting elements being connectable to equipment; and a base support coupled to at least one of said first and second members. 2. A channel according to claim 1, wherein one of said first and second equipment mounting elements is directly connected to the equipment. 3. A channel according to claim 1, wherein said first and second equipment mounting elements have a longitudinal dimension that extend substantially the entire length of said first and second members, respectively. 4. A channel according to claim 3, wherein each of said first and second equipment mounting elements are substantially U-shaped to define an outwardly facing recess, and where the equipment is received within said recess. 5. A channel according to claim 1, wherein each of said first and second equipment mounting elements are directly connected to said first and second outer surfaces of said first and second members. 6. A channel according to claim 1, wherein said third member includes an aperture providing access between said first and second receiving areas. 7. A channel according to claim 1, wherein a second base support is coupled to the other of said first and second members. 8. A channel for managing equipment and equipment cables, comprising: opposing first and second members and a third member extending between and connected to said first and second members with said first, second and third members forming an I-shaped section transverse to a longitudinal axis of said first and second members, and each of said first and second members including first and second inner and outer surfaces; first and second oppositely facing cable receiving areas defined between said first and second inner surfaces of said first and second members, with said third member being located between said first and second receiving areas, said first and second cable receiving areas having a longitudinal dimension extending the length of said first, second and third members; first and second equipment mounting elements extending from each of said first and second outer surfaces of said first and second members, said first and second equipment mounting elements facing outwardly in a direction substantially perpendicular to said first and second cable receiving areas being connectable to equipment; and a base support coupled to one of said first and second members. 9. A channel according to claim 8, wherein one of said first and second equipment mounting elements is directly connected to the equipment. 10. A channel according to claim 8, wherein said first and second equipment mounting elements extend substantially the entire length of said first and second members, respectively. 11. A channel according to claim 10, wherein each of said first and second equipment mounting elements are substantially U-shaped to define an outwardly facing recess, and where the equipment is received in said recess. 12. A channel according to claim 8, wherein each of said first and second equipment mounting elements are directly connected to said first and second outer surfaces of said first and second members and adapted for connecting to the equipment for connecting two of said channels together. 13. A channel according to claim 8, wherein said third member includes an aperture providing access between said first and second receiving areas. 14. A channel according to claim 8, wherein a second base support is coupled to the other of said first and second members. 15. A channel according to claim 1, wherein said first and second equipment mounting elements extend substantially perpendicular from said first and second members, respectively. 16. A channel according to claim 1, wherein said first and second equipment mounting elements face outwardly from said outer surfaces of said first and second members. 17. A channel according to claim 8, wherein said third member has a first side for defining said first cable receiving area between said inner surfaces of said first and second members, and a second surface for defining said second cable receiving area between said first and second members. 18. A channel according to claim 9, wherein said first and second cable receiving areas have an open side facing outwardly from a first side and a second side of said third member. 19. The channel according to claim 1, wherein said channel is defined by a first substantially U-shaped channel member and a second substantially U-shaped channel member, each of said channel members having a first portion, a second portion and a third portion connecting the first and second portions together, and where said third portions of said first and second channel members are coupled together to form said third member. 20. The channel according to claim 19, wherein said equipment mounting elements are coupled directly to said first and second portions of each of said channel members. 21. The channel according to claim 19, wherein said first and second portions have outer longitudinal ends, each of said longitudinal ends having an inwardly extending flange adapted for coupling to a cover. 22. The channel according to claim 21, further comprising a cover coupled to said flanges to cover at least one of said cable receiving areas. 23. The channel according to claim 1, wherein said first, second and third members extend the entire length of said channel and said first and second cable receiving areas have a longitudinal dimension extending the length of said channel member; and said equipment mounting elements coupled to the outer sides of said first and second members, and facing outwardly for coupling to equipment to couple two of said channels together. 24. The channel according to claim 8, wherein said channel further comprises a first substantially U-shaped member having a first portion, a second and a third portion extending between said first and second portions, said first and second portions having an outer edge with a longitudinal flange, said first, second, and third portions and longitudinal flanges defining said first cable receiving area; and a second substantially U-shaped member having a first portion, a second portion and a third portion extending between said first and second portions, each of said first and second portions having an outer edge with a longitudinal flange, said first, second and third portions and longitudinal flanges defining said second cable receiving area, and where said third portions are coupled together to form said third member. 25.
