A dispensing device for dispensing medicaments to a patient comprising: (a) a supporting structure; (b) a pre-filled collapsible container having a continuous wall formed of a single material carried by said supporting structure, said collapsible container comprising an hermetically sealed reservoir having an outlet port and including sealing means for sealing said outlet port, said sealing means comprising a top wall integrally formed with said side wall, a pierceable membrane positioned over said top wall and a closure cap positioned over said pierceable membrane and connected to said collapsible container; (c) stored energy means carried by said supporting structure and operably associated with said collapsible reservoir for collapsing said collapsible reservoir to expel fluid therefrom; (d) an administration set, including an administration line interconnected with said outlet of said collapsible reservoir; and (e) fluid flow control means carried by said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set, said fluid flow control means including a rate control assembly comprising: (i) a rate control plate having a planar surface having a plurality of circuitous channels formed therein; (ii) a rate control cover fixedly connected to said rate control plate and cooperating therewith to form a plurality of fluid flow passageways, each having an outlet; and (iii) a selector member rotatably connected to said supporting structure, said selector member having a passageway having an inlet that, upon rotation of said selector member communicates with a selected one of said outlets of said fluid flow passageways. 2. The dispensing device as defined in claim 1 in which said pre-filled collapsible fluid reservoir is aseptically filled and sealed at time of manufacture. 3. The dispensing device as defined in claim 1 in which said stored energy means comprises a spring operably interconnected with said collapsible reservoir. 4. The dispensing device as defined in claim 1 in which said flow control means comprises rate control means and further comprises operating means for controlling fluid flow between said collapsible reservoir and said rate control means. 5. A dispensing device for dispensing medicaments to a patient comprising: (a) a supporting structure comprising a base assembly and a housing interconnected with said base assembly; (b) a carriage assembly interconnected with said supporting structure for movement between a first position and a second position; (c) a unitary pre-filled collapsible container having an uninterrupted top, bottom and side wall, said container being carried by said carriage assembly, said collapsible container comprising a reservoir having an outlet port and sealing means for sealing said outlet port, said sealing means comprising a pierceable membrane superimposed over said top wall and a closure cap positioned over said pierceable membrane and connected to said container; (d) a stored energy means operably associated with said carriage assembly for moving said carriage assembly between said first and second positions, said stored energy means comprising a spring; (e) an administration set, including an administration line interconnected with said outlet port of said collapsible reservoir; and (f) fluid flow control means carried by said base assembly of said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set, said fluid flow control means comprising: (i) rate control means carried by said supporting structure for controlling the rate of fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set, said rate control means comprising a rate control assembly including a rate control plate having a plurality of fluid channels in communication with said outlet port of said container and a rate control cover having a plurality of outlet passageways in communication with said plurality of fluid channels; and (ii) operating means carried by said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow between said collapsible container and said rate control means, said operating means comprising a penetrating member for penetrating said pierceable membrane and said top wall of said container. 6. The dispensing device as defined in claim 5, further including locking means carried by said supporting structure for locking said carriage assembly in said first position. 7. The dispensing device as defined in claim 5 in which said collapsible container comprises an hermetically sealed reservoir. 8. A dispensing device for dispensing medicaments to a patient comprising: (a) a supporting structure comprising a base assembly and a generally cylindrically shaped outer housing interconnected with said base assembly; (b) a carriage assembly interconnected with said supporting structure for movement between a first position and a second position, said carriage assembly comprising a carriage having a carriage base provided with a plurality of circumferentially spaced openings; (c) locking means carried by said supporting structure for locking said carriage assembly in said first position; (d) an aseptically filled collapsible container carried by said carriage assembly, said collapsible container having a reservoir and being formed by a blow-fill-seal process and having a continuous wall including a collapsible telescoping side wall that is movable from an extended reservoir defining configuration to a collapsed configuration wherein said side wall telescopes, a pierceable top wall connected to said collapsible telescoping side wall, a pierceable membrane positioned over said top wall, and a closure cap positioned over said pierceable membrane and connected to said collapsible container; (e) a stored energy means operably associated with said carriage assembly for moving said carriage assembly between said first and second positions, said stored energy means comprising a coil spring having a first end in engagement with said supporting structure and a second end in engagement with said carriage; (f) an administration set, including an administration line interconnected with said outlet port of said collapsible reservoir; and (g) fluid flow control means carried by said base assembly of said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set, said flow control means comprising: (i) rate control means carried by said supporting structure for controlling the rate of fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set, said rate control means comprising a rate control plate having a plurality of fluid flow channels interconnected with said outlet of said collapsible reservoir; and (ii) operating means carried by said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow between said collapsible reservoir and said rate control means. 9. A dispensing device as defined in claim 8 further including guide means connected to said supporting structure for guiding travel of said carriage assembly between said first position and said second position, said guide means comprising a plurality of circumferentially spaced guide members connected to said base assembly and a guide rib connected to said housing of said supporting structure, said spaced-apart guide members being slidably received within said openings provided in said carriage base. 10. The dispensing device as defined in claim 8 in which said operating means comprises a penetrating member movable between first position and a second position permitting fluid flow from said collapsible reservoir toward said administration set. 11. The dispensing device as defined in claim 8 in which said rate control means further includes selector means for selecting the rate of fluid flow between said collapsible reservoir and said administration set, said selector means comprising a selector housing carried by said supporting structure and a selector member rotatably carried by said selector housing. 12. The dispensing device as defined in claim 8 further including a pierceable septum connected to said collapsible container. 13. A dispensing device for dispensing medicaments to a patient comprising: (a) a supporting structure; (b) a hermetically sealed, unitary collapsible container carried by said supporting structure, said unitary collapsible container having a telescoping side wall that telescopes upon itself from a first expanded reservoir defining configuration and a second telescoped configuration being formed using aseptic blow-fill-seal manufacturing techniques and having a pre-filled, sealed fluid reservoir filled with the fluid to be delivered to the patient; (c) access means connected to said collapsible container for accessing said reservoir; (d) a stored energy means operably associated with said supporting structure for collapsing said collapsible container; (e) an administration set, including an administration line interconnected with said outlet port of said collapsible reservoir. (f) flow control means carried by said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow from said reservoir toward said administration set, said flow control means comprising a rate control assembly including: (i) a rate control plate having a plurality of circuitous flow channels in communication with said reservoir of said container; (ii) a rate control cover connected to said rate control plate, said rate control cover having a plurality of outlet passageways in communication with said plurality of circuitous flow channels; and (iii) selector means for selecting the rate of fluid flow between said rate control assembly and said administration set, said selector means comprising a selector member having an axially extending fluid passageway in communication with said reservoir and a plurality of circumferentially extending passageways in communication with said flow channels of said rate control plate, said selector member being rotatable relative to said supporting structure. 14. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which said stored energy means comprises a spring operably interconnected with a carriage assembly. 15. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13, further including a carriage assembly carried by said supporting structure for supporting said hermetically sealed collapsible container, said carriage assembly being movable between first and second positions. 16. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises a diluent. 17. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises a beneficial agent. 18. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises a blood volume expander. 19. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises artificial blood substitute. 20. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises a saline solution. 21. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises blood plasma. 22. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises a nutritional solution. 23. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises blood. 24. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13 in which the fluid contained within said reservoir comprises resuscitation fluid. 25. The dispensing device as defined in claim 13, further including a carriage assembly carried by said supporting structure for supporting said hermetically sealed collapsible container and in which said supporting structure comprises a base assembly and a housing interconnected with said base assembly and further comprising guide means for guiding said carriage, said guide means comprising a guide member connected to said base assembly, said carriage assembly being slidably associated with said guide member. 27. A fluid dispensing device comprising: (a) a supporting structure; (b) a pre-filled sealed, collapsible container carried by said supporting structure, said collapsible container including a fluid reservoir and being integrally formed as a single unit at time of manufacture; (c) stored energy means carried by said supporting structure and operably associated with said collapsible container for collapsing said collapsible container to controllably expel fluid from said fluid reservoir; (d) an administration set, including an administration line interconnected with said fluid reservoir; and (e) fluid flow control means carried by said supporting structure for controlling fluid flow from said fluid reservoir toward said administration set, said flow control means comprising: (i) rate control means for controlling the rate of fluid flow from said fluid reservoir toward said administration set, said rate control means comprising: a. a rate control plate having a planar surface having a plurality of circuitous channels formed therein; b. a rate control cover fixedly connected to said rate control plate and cooperating therewith to form a plurality of fluid flow passageways, each having an outlet; and c. a selector member rotatably connected to said supporting structure, said selector member having a passageway having an inlet that upon rotation of said selector member communicates with a selected one of said outlets of said fluid flow passageways; and (ii) operating means for controlling fluid flow between said collapsible reservoir and said rate control means.
