Methods of treating a tar sands formation is described herein. The methods may include providing heat to a first section of a hydrocarbon layer in the formation from a plurality of heaters located in the first section of the formation. Heat is transferred from the heaters so that at least a first section of the formation reaches a selected temperature. At least a portion of residual heat from the first section transfers from the first section to a second section of the formation. At least a portion of hydrocarbons in the second section are mobilized by providing a solvation fluid and/or a pressurizing fluid to the second section of the formation.
What is claimed is: 1. A method of treating a tar sands formation, comprising: providing heat to a first section of a hydrocarbon layer in the formation from a plurality of heaters located in the first section of the formation; allowing the heat to transfer from the heaters so that at least the fir
What is claimed is: 1. A method of treating a tar sands formation, comprising: providing heat to a first section of a hydrocarbon layer in the formation from a plurality of heaters located in the first section of the formation; allowing the heat to transfer from the heaters so that at least the first section of the formation reaches a selected temperature; allowing at least a portion of residual heat from the heated first section to transfer from the heated first section to an unheated portion of a second section of the formation; heating the unheated portion of the second portion to an average temperature of at least 50° C. with the residual heat from the first section; mobilizing at least a portion of hydrocarbons in the heated second section by providing a solvation fluid to the second section of the formation; and producing a mixture from the second section, wherein the mixture comprises mobilized hydrocarbons and solvation fluid. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein residual heat transfers from the first section to the unheated portion of the second section by conduction and/or convection. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein superposition of heat from the plurality of heaters heats a majority of the first section. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein a minority of the heat transfers to the unheated portion of the second section through superposition of heat from the plurality of heaters. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the second section is outside of a perimeter of the heaters. 6. The method of claim 1, wherein a location of a heated area in the second section is greater than an average distance between the heaters in the first section. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the second section is substantially horizontal to the first section. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the second section is substantially vertical to the first section. 9. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing the solvation fluid to a third section to mobilize at least a portion of the fluids from the third section of the formation. 10. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing the solvation fluid to the first section to mobilize at least a portion of the fluids towards a production well in the first section of the formation. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected temperature is between 250° C. and 400° C. 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the solvation fluid is selected from a group consisting of carbon disulfide, water, hydrocarbons, surfactants, polymers, caustic, alkaline water solutions, sodium carbonate solutions, and mixtures thereof. 13. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a pressurizing fluid to the second section, wherein the pressurizing fluid comprises carbon dioxide and/or methane. 14. The method of claim 1, further comprising producing the mobilized hydrocarbons, and wherein the produced hydrocarbons comprise bitumen. 15. The method of claim 1, further comprising producing a majority of hydrocarbons from the first section; providing the solvation fluid to the first section; mobilizing heavy hydrocarbons in the first section by displacing the heavy hydrocarbons with the solvation fluid; and producing hydrocarbons from the first section, wherein the produced hydrocarbons comprise at least a portion of the displaced heavy hydrocarbons. 16. The method of claim 1, wherein the transferred residual heat from the first section heats a portion of the second section to an average temperature between about 100° C. and about 250° C. 17. The method of claim 1, wherein the solvation fluid comprises hydrocarbons, and wherein the hydrocarbons have an aromatic content of at least 1% by weight. 18. A method of treating a hydrocarbon containing formation, comprising: providing heat to a first section of a hydrocarbon layer in the formation from a plurality of heaters located in the first section of the formation; allowing the heat to transfer from the heaters so that at least the first section of the formation reaches a selected temperature; allowing at least a portion of residual heat from the heated first section to transfer from the heated first section to an unheated portion of a second section of the formation; heating the unheated portion of the second portion to an average temperature of at least 50° C. with the residual heat from the first section; mobilizing at least a portion of hydrocarbons in the heated second section by providing a solvation fluid to the second section of the formation; and producing hydrocarbons from the first section, wherein the produced hydrocarbons comprise hydrocarbons from the second section and solvation fluid. 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the produced hydrocarbons further comprise bitumen. 20. The method of claim 18, wherein the solvation fluid comprises hydrocarbons, and wherein the hydrocarbons have an aromatic content of at least 1% by weight.
