What is claimed is: 1. A method of manufacturing a shelf including a panel and a continuous plastic structure which fixedly surrounds the entire periphery and all edges of said panel, comprising forming the continuous plastic structure separately from the panel by hot molding in a mold, assembling

What is claimed is: 1. A method of manufacturing a shelf including a panel and a continuous plastic structure which fixedly surrounds the entire periphery and all edges of said panel, comprising forming the continuous plastic structure separately from the panel by hot molding in a mold, assembling the panel with the continuous plastic structure such that the continuous plastic structure completely surrounds the entire periphery and all edges of the panel outside of the mold before the continuous plastic structure has fully shrunk, and cooling the continuous plastic structure to thereby cause shrinking of the continuous plastic structure around the entire periphery of the panel and the mating of the continuous plastic structure to the panel around the entire periphery and all edges of the panel, wherein the panel is held in place by clipping between tabs or tongues or lugs provided on said continuous plastic structure and the remainder of said structure, said panel being forcibly inserted between said tabs or tongues or lugs and said remainder of said structure before the continuous plastic structure has fully shrunk, and wherein an elastic adhesive is deposited on at least part of the continuous plastic structure that is to be in contact with the panel prior to the panel being forcibly inserted between said tabs or tongues or lugs and said remainder of said structure and before the continuous plastic structure has fully shrunk. 2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the panel is assembled with the continuous plastic structure before shrinkage of the continuous plastic structure has reached 40% of total shrinkage. 3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the panel is assembled on an underside or top face of the continuous plastic structure. 4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein, prior to assembly, a flexible insulating gasket is deposited on at least part of the continuous plastic structure that is to be in contact with the panel. 5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the flexible insulating gasket deposited has a conical shape. 6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein a surface of the panel is pre-treated, prior to application of the flexible insulating gasket, by one of sandblasting, grooving, goffering, forming roughness, and plasma treatment, to increase an area for contact between the continuous plastic structure and the flexible insulating gasket. 7. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the continuous plastic structure is formed by two-injection molding. 8. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the continuous plastic structure is formed by air molding. 9. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the continuous plastic structure has a perimeter shrunk-fit around a perimeter of the panel to provide a lateral pressure of from 5-15 MPa compressing the edge of the panel.
