According to the invention, the components which form brittle phases are removed from the solder metal. The above is achieved, whereby a second material is applied which reacts with said component and which is removed again with the brittle phases, before the coating.

A heat resistant component, comprising:a substrate including a recess;a mixture of a first material and an agent that reduces the melting point of the first material disposed in the recess;a base coating comprising a MCrAlX alloy that covers a region of the filled recess; anda second metallic material covering the region of the filled recess to form a discrete local coating disposed between the mixture and the base coating, the second metallic material comprising an element that reacts with the agent during a removal heat treatment to form a compound comprising the element and the agent, thereby inhibiting diffusion of the agent of the first material into the base coating,wherein M is an element selected from the group consisting of: iron, cobalt, and nickel, andwherein X is yttrium or a rare earth element.
