An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising: an arm,a first bracket attaching to said arm and having a first projection,a second bracket attaching to said arm and having a second projection,wherein said first projection and said second projection touch each other and move relative to each other to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox and wherein said arm comprises a tab attached thereto and cooperating with said first projection of said first bracket. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said first projection is L-shaped. 3. The apparatus of claim 2 wherein said first projection further comprises horizontally flipped L-shapes. 4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said first projection cooperates with a tab attached to said arm to attach said first bracket to said arm and to allow said first projection to move selectively across said arm. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said second projection comprises a brim engaging said first projection and holding said first projection against said arm. 6. The apparatus of claim 5 wherein said second projection further comprises a bottom attaching to said brim and selectively sliding across said arm. 7. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said second projection bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said first projection. 8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said first bracket comprises an area of reduced height and said second projection comprises a brim engaging said first projection and holding said first projection against said arm, said brim of said second projection extending through said area of reduced height if said desired dimension is narrow compared to a width of the arm and engaging said first projection if said desired dimension is relatively wide compared to said width of said arm. 9. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said second projection further comprises a bottom and a brim, wherein said brim extends beyond said bottom. 10. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said second projection bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said first projection. 11. An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising: an arm having a tab,a first bracket attaching to said arm and having an L-shaped projection,a second bracket attaching to said arm and having a second projection having a brim anda bottom,wherein a first projection cooperates with said tab and said brim cooperates with said L-shaped projection to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox and wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said L-shaped projection. 12. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein said first bracket comprises an area of reduced height and said second projection comprises a brim for engaging said L-shaped projection and holding said L-shaped projection against said arm, said brim extending into said area of reduced height if said desired dimension is narrow compared to a width of the arm and engaging said L-shaped projection if said desired dimension is relatively wide compared to said width of said arm. 13. The apparatus of claim 11 wherein said second projection further comprises a bottom and a brim, wherein said brim extends beyond said bottom. 14. The apparatus of claim 13 wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said L-shaped projection. 15. An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising: an arm,a first bracket for attaching to said arm and having a first projection,a second bracket for attaching to said arm and having a second projection,wherein said first projection and said second projection cooperate with each other to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox and wherein said second projection comprises a brim engaging said first projection and holding said first projection against said arm and wherein said second projection further comprises a bottom attaching to said brim and selectively sliding across said arm. 16. The apparatus of claim 15 wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said second projection bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said first projection. 17. An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising an arm, a first bracket for attaching to said arm and having a first projection, a second bracket for attaching to said arm and having a second projection wherein said first projection and said second projection cooperate with each other to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox wherein said first bracket comprises an area of reduced height and said second projection comprises a brim for engaging said first projection and holding said first projection against said arm, said brim of said second projection extending through said area of reduced height if said desired dimension is narrow compared to a width of the arm and engaging said first projection if said desired dimension is relatively wide compared to said width of said arm. 18. An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising: an arm having a tab,a first bracket attaching to said arm and having an L-shaped projection,a second bracket attaching to said arm and having a second projection having a brim and a bottom, and wherein said first projection cooperates with said tab and said brim cooperates with said L-shaped projection to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox and wherein said bottom comprises a slot and further comprises a fastener selectively holding said bottom against said arm and holding said brim against said L-shaped projection. 19. An apparatus for supporting a mailbox, said apparatus comprising: an arm having a tab,a first bracket attaching to said arm and having an L-shaped projection,a second bracket attaching to said arm and having a second projection having a brim and a bottom, wherein said first projection cooperates with said tab and said brim cooperates with said L-shaped projection to achieve a desired dimension to support a desired dimension of said mailbox wherein said first bracket comprises an area of reduced height and said second projection comprises a brim for engaging said L-shaped projection and holding said L-shaped projection against said arm, said brim extending into said area of reduced height if said desired dimension is narrow compared to a width of the arm and engaging said L-shaped projection if said desired dimension is relatively wide compared to said width of said arm.
