The method of claim 3, further comprising: de-energizing the motor prior to transferring energy from the flywheel to the drive mechanism. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein pivoting the lever arm using the solenoid pin comprises: moving the lever arm with the solenoid pin by way of a knee hinge. 6. The method of claim 1, further comprising: moving a sled using the solenoid pin. 7. The method of claim 6, wherein moving the sled comprises; providing the sled with wheels. 8. A device for impacting a fastener comprising: a frame;a motor mounted to the frame and including a drive shaft defining a drive shaft axis;a lever arm including a pivot axis coexistensive with the drive shaft axis;a flywheel rotatably mounted on the lever arm and operably connected to the motor for storing energy received from the motor;a drive mechanism for impacting a fastener by movement along a drive mechanism axis; anda solenoid configured to pivot the lever arm between a first position wherein the flywheel is spaced apart from the drive mechanism and a second position wherein the flywheel can contact the drive mechanism by movement of a solenoid pin generally along the drive mechanism axis. 9. The device of claim 8, wherein the motor is fixedly mounted to the frame. 10. The device of claim 8, further comprising: a belt operably connecting the motor and the flywheel for transferring energy from the motor to the flywheel. 11. The device of claim 8, further comprising: a work contact element;a pivot arm operably connected to the work contact element; anda trigger including a stop slot for receiving a portion of the pivot arm. 12. The device of claim 8, wherein: the drive mechanism includes a lower surface with a plurality of grooves; andthe flywheel includes a plurality of grooves complimentary to the plurality of grooves on the drive mechanism. 13. The device of claim 8, wherein the lever arm is rotatably supported by the motor through a bearing. 14. The device of claim 8, further comprising: a knee hinge operably connected to the solenoid pin and the lever arm. 15. The device of claim 8, further comprising: a sled operably connected to the solenoid pin and the lever arm. 16. The device of claim 15, wherein the sled comprises wheels.
