A locking assembly security apparatus engages with a tablet computer or similar device, which is securely locked to it via a plunger lock. A corner pocket engages one corner of the tablet computer, while another proximal lockable corner pocket engages the diagonally opposite corner of the tablet computer. The security apparatus includes a diagonally extending chassis bar between the opposite set of corner pockets. The base of a proximal pocket extends from the diagonally extending chassis bar to the flanges at the proximal end on the other side of the integral hinge pin housing of the proximal pocket, which flips up to permit a corner of the tablet computer to be inserted or disengaged.

1. A locking assembly for securing a portable electronic device having at least one housing to a substantially immovable object, the locking assembly comprising: a captive security rod or spike having a locking end and an anchoring end, the anchoring end of the captive security rod or spike configured for anchoring to the portable electronic device through the at least one housing; a locking device configured to lock to the captive security rod or spike upon insertion of the cable into a lock opening to actuate a locking mechanism therein locking the locking device to the captive security rod or spike; and a the cable attached to the locking device and configured for fastening to the substantially immovable object prior to locking the locking device to the captive security rod or spike, wherein the locking end of the captive security rod or spike comprises a small knob, wherein the small knob is axially located on a distal end of the captive security rod or spike, wherein the captive security rod or spike is stored in a recess in the at least one housing during non-use, and the small knob protrudes from the at least one housing during non-use. 2. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the captive security rod, upon anchoring to the at least one housing of the portable electronic device is stored in a recess and grasped to deploy in an extended position. 3. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 2, wherein in its deployed, extended position, the locking end of the captive security rod protrudes out of a surface of the at least one housing. 4. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein said portable electronic device comprises any of the group consisting of a laptop computer, a notebook computer, and tablet computer, a cell phone, a camera, a Smartphone, music storage and playback device. 5. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein said portable electronic device comprises a first housing, a second housing and a hinge, wherein said hinge separates and allows said first housing to be closed upon said second housing and wherein said captive security rod is deployed to extend and protrude from any surface of said first housing or said second housing. 6. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 5, wherein said second housing is a keyboard part and said captive security rod is inserted through and anchored, and operates to extend in a deployed position out of a surface of said second housing. 7. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the substantially immovable object is a base plate. 8. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the substantially immovable object is attached to the cable via a locking clamp attached to the cable. 9. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the cable has a loop opposite its end permanently attached to the locking device through which the locking device is passed after the cable is wrapped around the substantially immovable object whereinafter the locking device is lockingly attached to the captive security rod of the portable electronic device. 10. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the locking device is a pin lock. 11. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1, wherein the locking device is a plunger-type security lock. 12. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 1 wherein the security rod or spike operates to collapse into the at least one housing during non-use. 13. A locking assembly for securing a portable electronic device having at least one housing to a substantially immovable object, the locking assembly comprising: a security rod or spike having a protruding end, an anchoring end configured for anchoring to the portable electronic device through the at least one housing and a transverse hole; a cable with a first end formed with a ferrule having a locking groove, and a second end configured for secure fastening to the substantially immovable object; and a locking device configured with an opening for receiving the ferrule after the ferrule is first passed through the transverse hole of the security rod or spike, wherein an actuating mechanism in the locking device captures the ferrule groove to lock security rod and spike and therefore the portable electronic device to the substantially immovable object, wherein the protruding end of the security rod or spike comprises a small knob, wherein the small knob is axially located on a distal end of the security rod or spike, wherein the security rod or spike is stored in a recess in the at least one housing during non-use, and the small knob protrudes from the at least one housing during non-use. 14. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 13, wherein said portable electronic device comprises a first housing, a second housing and a hinge, wherein said hinge separates and allows said first housing to be closed upon said second housing and wherein said captive security rod is deployed to extend and protrude from any surface of said first housing or said second housing. 15. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 14, wherein said second housing is a keyboard part and said captive security rod fixedly inserted through, and operate to extending in a deployed position out of a surface of said second housing. 16. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 13, wherein the substantially immovable object is attached to via a locking clamp attached to the cable. 17. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 13, wherein the locking device is a pin lock. 18. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 13, wherein the captive security rod, upon anchoring to the at least one housing of the portable electronic device is stored in a recess and grasped to deploy in an extended position. 19. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 13 wherein the security rod or spike operates to collapse into the at least one housing during non-use. 20. A method of securing a portable electronic device having at least one housing to a substantially immovable object utilizing a locking assembly comprising a security rod or spike, a locking device and a cable attached to the locking device at one end, the method comprising acts of: securedly fixing an anchoring end of the security rod or spike to the portable electronic device upon or through the at least one housing, wherein an other end of the security rod or spike is configured as a locking end; attaching an other end of the cable to the substantially immovable object; and inserting the cable into an opening in a locking device constructed with an internal locking mechanism to actuate the internal locking mechanism locking the locking device to the captive security rod and locking the portable electronic device to the substantially immovable object, thereby, wherein the locking end of the security rod or spike comprises a small knob, wherein the small knob is axially located on a distal end of the security rod or spike, wherein the security rod or spike is stored in a recess in the at least one housing during non-use, and the small knob protrudes from the at least one housing during non-use. 21. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 20, wherein the locking device is a pin lock and wherein the other end of the cable is first attached to a clamp and the clamp is attached to the substantially immovable object. 22. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 20, wherein the captive security rod, upon anchoring to the at least one housing of the portable electronic device is stored in a recess and grasped to deploy in an extended position. 23. The locking assembly as set forth in claim 20 wherein the security rod or spike operates to collapse into the at least one housing during non-use.
