A method of communicating content from an internet accessible system to a subscribed cellular phone comprising the following acts performed by a content provider: a. generating media content in a format suitable for wireless delivery to a cellular phone;b. storing the generated media content in a first internet accessible system, the system having memory, a processor, data storage, and a networking interface;c. providing a notification to a second system, the notification: i. including: (1) text describing the media content, and (2) data that identifies the location of the media content as stored on the first internet accessible system; andii. configured to cause the second system to send a paging call including at least three different portions: (1) a first portion including the text describing the media content, (2) a second portion including a system address of a specific system from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, and (3) a third portion comprising a unique code, wherein the second portion and the third portion together identify the media content in the first internet accessible system;d. receiving at the first internet accessible system a response message related to the paging call, the response message including: (1) a request to transmit at least a portion of the generated media content stored at the first system to the subscribed cellular phone, and (2) data corresponding to the system address and the unique code; ande. communicating at least a portion of the media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system. 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the paging call indirectly identifies the media content and its location. 3. The method of claim 1 further comprising determining a location of the cellular phone. 4. The method of claim 3 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined using a home location registry (HLR). 5. The method of claim 3 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined from information supplied by the cellular phone. 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the paging call comprises a Short Message Service (“SMS”) message. 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the media content comprises video. 8. The method of claim 1 wherein the paging call indicates a time during which the media content is available. 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the notification is configured for display on the cellular phone. 10. The method of claim 1 wherein the paging call further includes a fourth portion including the name of the media content sender. 11. The method of claim 10 wherein the name of the media content sender comprises the name of the content provider. 12. The method of claim 1 wherein the media content comprises an advertisement. 13. The method of claim 1 wherein the first internet accessible system and the second system are the same system. 14. The method of claim 1, wherein the act of receiving the response at the first internet accessible system further comprises: the content provider receiving a request that is based on status information which had been received by the subscribed cellular phone from the specific system to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process following the subscribed cellular phone's use of the second and third portions to request the media content. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the status information comprises an indication of a wrong identification. 16. The method of claim 14, wherein the status information comprises error status information. 17. The method of claim 1, further comprising: f. in response to a request received at the system to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, causing error status information to be transmitted to the cell phone from the specific system to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process; andg. prior to communicating at least a portion of the media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system, receiving from the cell phone at the first internet accessible system a request that is based on the error status information. 18. A method of communicating content from an internet accessible system to a subscribed cellular phone comprising the following acts performed by a content provider: a. generating media content in a format suitable for wireless delivery to a cellular phone;b. storing the generated media content in a first internet accessible system, the system having memory, a processor, data storage, and a networking interface;c. providing a notification to a second system, the notification configured to cause the second system to send a paging call including at least three different portions: (1) the first portion including text describing the generated media content, (2) a second portion including a system address of a specific system from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, wherein the specific system is a system other than the first internet accessible system, and (3) a third portion comprising a unique code, wherein the second portion and the third portion together identify the content and its location on the internet;d. receiving at the first internet accessible system a response message related to the paging call, the response message including: (1) a request to transmit at least a portion of the generated media content stored at the first internet accessible system to the subscribed cellular phone, and (2) data corresponding to the system address and the unique code; ande. communicating at least a portion of the media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone. 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the paging call directly or indirectly identifies the media content and its location. 20. The method of claim 18 further comprising determining a location of the cellular phone. 21. The method of claim 20 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined using a home location registry (HLR). 22. The method of claim 20 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined from information supplied by the cellular phone. 23. The method of claim 18 wherein the paging call comprises a Short Message Service (“SMS”) message. 24. The method of claim 18 wherein the media content comprises video. 25. The method of claim 18 wherein the paging call indicates a time during which the media content is available. 26. The method of claim 18 wherein the notification is configured for display on the cellular phone. 27. The method of claim 18 wherein the second and third portions are configured to be usable by the cellular phone to retrieve the media content. 28. The method of claim 18 wherein the paging call further includes a fourth portion including the name of the media content sender. 29. The method of claim 28 wherein the name of the media content sender comprises the name of the content provider. 30. The method of claim 18 wherein the media content comprises an advertisement. 31. The method of claim 18 wherein the first internet accessible system and the second system are the same system. 32. The method of claim 18, wherein the act of receiving the request at the first internet accessible system further comprises: the content provider receiving a request that is based on status information which had been received by the subscribed cellular phone from the specific system to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process following the subscribed cellular phone's use of the second and third portions to request the media content. 33. The method of claim 32, wherein the status information comprises an indication of a wrong identification. 34. The method of claim 32, wherein the status information comprises error status information. 35. The method of claim 18, further comprising: f. in response to a request received at the system to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, causing error status information to be transmitted to the cell phone from the systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process; andg. prior to communicating at least a portion of the media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system, receiving from the cell phone at the first internet accessible system a request that is based on the error status information. 36. A method of communicating content from an internet accessible system to a subscribed cellular phone comprising the following acts performed by a content provider: a. generating media content in a format suitable for wireless delivery to a cellular phone;b. storing the generated media content in a first internet accessible system, the system having memory, a processor, data storage, and a networking interface;c. providing a notification to a second system, the notification configured to cause the second system to send a paging call including at least three different portions: (1) the first portion including the text describing the generated media content, (2) a second portion including a system address of a specific system from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, and (3) a third portion comprising a unique code, wherein the second portion and the third portion together identify the content and its location on the internet;d. the content provider receiving a request message at the first internet accessible system storing the content, the request message based on status information which had been received by the subscribed cellular phone following the subscribed cellular phone's response to a system other than the system identified in the second portion, the request message including data corresponding to the system address and unique code; and,e. the content provider communicating at least a portion of the media content from the system storing the content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system. 37. The method of claim 36 further comprising adding a cellular phone identifier to a subscriber database. 38. The method of claim 37 wherein the cellular phone identifier comprises a phone number. 39. The method of claim 36 further comprising removing a cellular phone identifier from a subscriber database. 40. The method of claim 36 further comprising determining a location of the cellular phone. 41. The method of claim 40 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined using a home location registry (HLR). 42. The method of claim 40 wherein the location of the cellular phone is determined from information supplied by the cellular phone. 43. The method of claim 36 wherein the paging call comprises a Short Message Service (“SMS”) message. 44. The method of claim 36 wherein the first internet accessible system stores the subscriber database. 45. The method of claim 36, wherein the status information comprises an indication of a wrong identification. 46. The method of claim 36 wherein the status information is error status information. 47. A content communication system comprising: a. internet-accessible data storage that is configured to store generated media content;b. a processor coupled to the internet-accessible data storage and a first networking interface;c. memory configured to store a notification including: (1) a text description of the media content, and (2) data that identifies the location of the media content as stored on the internet-accessible data storage;d. a second networking interface coupled to the memory and configured to transmit the notification to a notification system, wherein the notification causes the notification system to send a paging call that includes at least three different portions: (1) a first portion including the text description of the media content, (2) a second portion that is a specific system address from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, and (3) a third portion comprising a unique code wherein the second portion and the third portion together identify the media content and its location as stored on the data storage and made available via the first networking interface on the internet; ande. wherein the first networking interface is configured to receive a request message including: (1) a request to transmit at least a portion of the generated media content stored on the internet-accessible data storage, and (2) data corresponding to the specific system address and the unique code; andf. wherein the first networking interface is configured to communicate at least a portion of the generated media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to a subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system. 48. The system of claim 47 wherein the content communication system is further configured to add a cellular phone identifier of the subscribed cellular phone to the subscriber database. 49. The system of claim 47 wherein the content communication system is further configured to remove a cellular phone identifier of the subscribed cellular phone from the subscriber database. 50. The system of claim 47 wherein the subscribed cellular phone is identified by a phone number. 51. The system of claim 47 further comprising determining a location of the subscribed cellular phone. 52. The system of claim 51 wherein the location of the subscribed cellular phone is determined using a home location registry (HLR). 53. The system of claim 51 wherein the location of the subscribed cellular phone is determined from information supplied by the subscribed cellular phone. 54. The system of claim 47 wherein the paging call comprises a Short Message Service (“SMS”) message. 55. The system of claim 47 wherein the content communication system is configured to store a subscriber database. 56. The system of claim 47 wherein the internet accessible content communication system and the notification system are the same system. 57. A content communication system comprising: a. internet-accessible data storage that is configured to store generated media content;b. a processor coupled to the internet-accessible data storage and a first networking interface;c. memory configured to store a notification including: (1) a text description of the media content, and (2) data that identifies a specific system to which to respond to begin retrieval of the media content as stored on the internet-accessible data storage;d. a second networking interface coupled to the memory and configured to transmit the notification to a notification system, wherein the notification causes the notification system to send a paging call including at least three different portions: (1) a first portion including the text description of the media content, (2) a second portion that is a specific system address from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, and (3) a third portion comprising a unique code wherein the second portion and the third portion together identify the media content and its location as stored on the data storage and made available via the first networking interface on the internet;e. wherein the first networking interface is configured to receive a request message including: (1) a request to transmit at least a portion of the generated media content stored on the internet-accessible data storage to a subscribed cellular phone, and (2) data corresponding to the system address and the unique code; and,f. wherein the first networking interface is configured to communicate at least a portion of the generated media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system. 58. A content communication system comprising: a. internet-accessible data storage that is configured to store generated media content;b. a processor coupled to the internet-accessible data storage and a first networking interface;c. memory configured to store a notification including: (1) a text description of the media content, and (2) data that includes at least two different portions, (a) a first portion including a system address of a specific system from among a plurality of systems to which to respond to begin the content retrieval process, and (b) a second portion comprising a unique code, wherein the first portion and the second portion together identify the content and its location on the internet;d. a second networking interface coupled to the memory and configured to transmit the notification to a notification system, wherein the notification causes the notification system to send a paging call including the text description of the media content, and data that causes a subscribed cellular phone to respond to a system other than the system identified in the first portion;e. wherein the first networking interface is configured to receive a request message including: (1) a request to transmit at least a portion of the generated media content, and (2) data based on status information which had been received by the subscribed cellular phone following the subscribed cellular phone's response to a system other than the system identified in the first portion; and,f. wherein the first networking interface is configured to communicate at least a portion of the generated media content to a cellular service provider for transmission to the subscribed cellular phone over a network comprising a cellular telephone data system.
