According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a system for removing matter from a filtering device of a work machine includes a gas pressurization assembly. An element of the gas pressurization assembly is removably attachable to a first orifice of the filtering device without removing the filtering device from a work machine to which the filtering device is connected. The system also includes a heat source fluidly connected to the gas pressurization assembly.

1. A method of cleaning a diesel particulate filter media, the method comprising: selectively directing a pulsed flow of gas from a compressed gas source through the filter media while the filter media is disposed on an engine-powered machine, the machine including an engine, and the filter media being configured to receive combustion exhaust from the engine when the filter media is disposed on the machine;increasing a temperature of the filter media with a heat source positioned proximate to the filter media; andtransferring heat to the filter media with the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media and transferring heat to the filter media without the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein increasing the temperature of the filter media includes increasing the temperature of the filter media with the heat source to a temperature greater than about 200 degrees Celsius. 3. The method of claim 2, wherein increasing the temperature of the filter media includes increasing the temperature of the filter media with the heat source to a temperature greater than about 500 degrees Celsius. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the heat source is an electric heating coil. 5. The method of claim 1, further including collecting particulate matter which is removed from the filter media in a receptacle. 6. The method of claim 1, further including: sensing a characteristic of the filter media; andcontrolling the pulsed flow of gas from the compressed gas source based on the sensed characteristic of the filter media. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the engine comprises a diesel engine, and the filter media is configured to filter exhaust gas from the diesel engine; and further including fluidly disconnecting the filter media from the diesel engine before selectively directing the pulsed flow of gas from the compressed gas source through the filter media. 8. The method of claim 1, further including directing the pulsed flow of gas to the filter media through a sealed connection forming a substantially airtight flow path between the compressed gas source and a housing enclosing the filter media. 9. The method of claim 1, further including regulating the pulsed flow of gas from the compresses gas source with a valve; and controlling the valve with a controller. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the engine is configured to assist in moving the machine. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the filter media is disposed within a housing having an inlet fluidly connected to the compressed air source while the pulsed flow of gas is directed through the filter media. 12. A method of cleaning a diesel particulate filter media, the method comprising: selectively directing a pulsed flow of gas from a compressed gas source through the filter media, wherein the filter media is disposed within a housing and the compressed gas source is disposed external to the housing;increasing a temperature of the filter media with a heat source disposed within the housing; andtransferring heat to the filter media with the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media and transferring heat to the filter media without the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the heat source comprises electric heating tape. 14. The method of claim 12, wherein the heat source is disposed on an inner surface of the housing. 15. The method of claim 12, wherein the housing remains coupled to a machine having an engine while the pulsed flow of gas is directed through the filter media and while exhaust from the engine is directed through the filter media. 16. The method of claim 12, wherein the heat source is disposed on an inner surface of the housing. 17. The method of claim 12, wherein the housing includes an inlet fluidly connected to the compressed air source while the pulsed flow of gas is directed through the filter media. 18. A method of cleaning a diesel particulate filter media, the method comprising: selectively directing a pulsed flow of gas from a compressed gas source through the filter media in a first direction while maintaining the filter media in a substantially horizontal orientation;increasing a temperature of the filter media with a heat source positioned proximate to the filter media; andtransferring heat to the filter media with the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media and transferring heat to the filter media without the pulsed flow of gas passing through the filter media. 19. The method of claim 18, further including directing a flow of gas from the compressed gas source through the filter media in a second direction opposite the first direction without changing the orientation of the filter media.
