The method of claim 1, wherein the user activity data comprises planned activity data. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the user activity data comprises completed activity data. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the user activity data is transmitted from a fitness monitor. 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the fitness monitor comprises a heart rate monitor. 6. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of increasing the size of a proximity zone relative to the location in response to a query from the user device. 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the first and second time periods are particular days. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein determining the at least one menu item includes determining that the caloric expenditure should be rewarded by including at least one higher calorie menu item. 9. The method of claim 4 wherein the fitness monitor comprises a GPS receiver. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the determination that less than all of the caloric intake goals should be modified is based on the user activity data. 11. The method of claim 1 further comprising: modifying the first caloric intake goal, but not the second caloric intake goal. 12. The method of claim 1 further comprising: modifying the second caloric intake goal, but not the first caloric intake goal. 13. A method for execution by a server computer system to allow the server system to respond to queries regarding dining decisions, the method comprising: associating a first planned workout with a first time period and a second planned workout with a second time period in a training journal database;associating a first caloric intake goal with the first time period and a second caloric intake goal that is different from the first caloric intake goal with the second time period in a meal plan database;receiving from a portable user device first user activity data collected via a fitness monitor during execution of the first planned workout, and associating the first user activity data with the first time period in the training journal database;receiving a first query regarding a first dining decision from the portable user device, the query including a first user device location;determining at least one first menu item at a first restaurant proximate to the first user device location based on information associated with the first time period in the training journal database and also based on the first caloric intake goal associated with the first time period in the meal plan database;determining whether the second planned workout should be modified; anddetermining that less than all of the caloric intake goals should be modified. 14. The method of claim 13, wherein the first and second time periods are particular days. 15. The method of claim 13, wherein determining the at least one first menu item includes determining that the execution of the first planned workout should be rewarded by including at least one first higher calorie menu item. 16. The method of claim 13, wherein the first user activity data is pace data. 17. The method of claim 13, wherein the first user activity data is determined using a GPS receiver. 18. The method of claim 13, wherein the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database is a caloric expenditure goal associated with the first planned workout. 19. The method of claim 13, wherein the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database is the first user activity data. 20. The method of claim 13, wherein the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database is caloric expenditure data derived from the first user activity data. 21. The method of claim 13, further comprising: receiving from the portable user device second user activity data collected via a fitness monitor during execution of the second planned workout, and associating the second user activity data with the second time period in the training journal database;receiving a second query regarding a second dining decision from the portable user device, the query including a second user device location; anddetermining at least one second menu item at a second restaurant proximate to the second user device location based on information associated with the second time period in the training journal database and also based on the second caloric intake goal associated with the second time period in the meal plan database. 22. The method of claim 13, wherein the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database is a pace goal associated with the first planned workout. 23. The method of claim 13, wherein the training journal database and the meal plan database are distinct databases. 24. The method of claim 13, wherein some of the first user activity data is received at the server computer system in substantially real time while some of the first user activity data is still being recorded by the portable user device, which is remotely located from the server computer system. 25. The method of claim 13 further comprising: the portable user device issuing substantially real time feedback while the first user activity data is being recorded, wherein the feedback is based on both the first user activity data and the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database. 26. The method of claim 13, wherein the determination of whether the second planned workout should be modified is based on a comparison between the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database and the first user activity data. 27. The method of claim 13 further comprising: modifying the second planned workout by eliminating the second planned workout. 28. The method of claim 13 further comprising: modifying the second planned workout by adjusting the difficulty of the second planned workout. 29. The method of claim 13, wherein the determination that less than all of the caloric intake goals should be modified is based on a comparison between the information associated with the first time period in the training journal database and the first user activity data. 30. The method of claim 13 further comprising: modifying the first caloric intake goal, but not the second caloric intake goal. 31. The method of claim 13 further comprising: modifying the second caloric intake goal, but not the first caloric intake goal.
