A mobile wireless communications device may include a housing and a multi-frequency band antenna carried within the housing. The multi-frequency band antenna may include a main loop conductor having a gap therein defining first and second ends of the main loop conductor, a first branch conductor having a first end connected adjacent the first end of the main loop conductor and having a second end defining a first feed point, and a second branch conductor having a first end connected adjacent the second end of the main loop conductor and a second end defining a second feed point. A third branch conductor has a first portion within the main loop conductor, and a second portion connected to the second feed point. A tuning branch conductor may have a first end connected to the main loop conductor between the respective first ends of the first and second branches.

A mobile wireless communications device comprising: a housing;wireless transceiver circuitry carried by said housing; andan antenna coupled to said wireless transceiver circuitry and comprising a loop conductor defining an interior area and also having a gap therein defining first and second ends of said loop conductor,a first branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the first end of said loop conductor,a second branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the second end of said loop conductor, anda third branch conductor having a first portion within the interior area of said loop conductor, and a second portion extending outwardly from said loop conductor. 2. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein said antenna further comprises a tuning branch conductor having a first end coupled to said loop conductor between the respective first ends of said first and second branches. 3. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first and second portions of said third branch conductor defines a loop. 4. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein the first portion of said third branch conductor comprises a patch. 5. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein said loop conductor has a generally rectangular shape with opposing first and second sides and opposing first and second ends; and wherein the gap is in the first side of said loop conductor. 6. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 5 wherein the respective first ends of said first branch conductor, and said second branch conductor are coupled to the first side of said loop conductor. 7. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein said loop conductor includes non-planar portions. 8. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 wherein said loop conductor has at least one tuning feature therein. 9. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 1 further comprising a dielectric substrate supporting said antenna; and wherein said loop conductor, and first, second and third branch conductors each comprises a respective conductive trace on said dielectric substrate. 10. A mobile wireless communications device comprising: a housing;wireless transceiver circuitry carried by said housing; andan antenna coupled to said wireless transceiver circuitry and comprising a loop conductor defining an interior area and also having a gap therein defining first and second ends of said loop conductor,a first branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the first end of said loop conductor,a second branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the second end of said loop conductor, anda third branch conductor having a first portion within the interior area of said loop conductor, and a second portion extending outwardly from said loop conductor,at least one of said first, second, and third branch conductors comprising a tuning feature therein. 11. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 further comprising a tuning branch conductor having a first end coupled to said loop conductor between the respective first ends of said first and second branches. 12. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein at least one of the first and second portions of said third branch conductor defines a loop. 13. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein the first portion of said third branch conductor comprises a patch. 14. The mobile wireless communications device of claim 10 wherein said loop conductor has at least one tuning feature therein. 15. A method for making an antenna for a mobile wireless communications device comprising a housing and wireless circuitry carried thereby, the method comprising: forming a loop conductor defining an interior and also having a gap therein defining first and second ends of the loop conductor;forming a first branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the first end of the loop conductor and having a second end defining a first feed point;forming a second branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the second end of the loop conductor and a second end defining a second feed point; andforming a third branch conductor having a first portion within the interior area of the loop conductor, and a second portion extending outwardly from the loop conductor. 16. The method of claim 15 further comprising forming a tuning branch conductor having a first end coupled to the loop conductor between the respective first ends of the first and second branches. 17. The method of claim 15 wherein forming the third branch conductor comprises forming the third branch conductor so that at least one of the first and second portions thereof defines a loop. 18. The method of claim 15 wherein the first portion of the third branch conductor comprises a patch. 19. The method of claim 15 further comprising forming the loop conductor to have at least one tuning feature therein.
