The fields of vision each have lateral boundaries. The system also includes a plurality of restrictive elements. Each restrictive element is positioned along a respective lateral boundary of a field of vision of the fields of vision of the plurality of cameras such that viewed users each positioned within a field of vision of the plurality of cameras are restricted by the plurality of restrictive elements from moving outside of the field of vision in which each viewed user is positioned.

A system comprising: a first conference site comprising: a first conference table comprising a front edge, a back edge, and a top surface;a first plurality of cameras, each of the first plurality of cameras positioned such that a respective sightline for each of the cameras runs from the rear edge towards the front edge and wherein each of the cameras are positioned such that within a respective field of view of each of the first plurality of cameras there is a unique portion of the top surface of the first conference table that when displayed at a similarly configured conference site provides the perception of being a continuous table; anda first plurality of monitors, each monitor positioned at or behind the rear edge of the first conference table and configured to display at least a portion of a top surface of a second conference table such that the top surface of the first conference table and the displayed portion of the top surface of the second conference table provide the perception of forming a single continuous surface; anda second conference site comprising: the second conference table comprising a front edge, a back edge, and a top surface;a second plurality of cameras, each of the second plurality of cameras positioned such that a respective sightline for each of the cameras runs from the rear edge towards the front edge and wherein each of the cameras are positioned such that within a respective field of view of each of the second plurality of cameras there is a unique portion of the top surface of the second conference table that when displayed at a similarly configured conference site provides the perception of being a continuous table; anda second plurality of monitors, each monitor positioned at or behind the rear edge of the second conference table and configured to display at least a portion of a top surface of the first conference table such that the top surface of the second conference table and the displayed portion of the top surface of the first conference table provide the perception of forming a single continuous surface. 2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a conference controller configured to: receive at least a first video signal from the first plurality of cameras;receive at least a second video signal from the second plurality of cameras;transmit the first video signal to the second conference site; andtransmit the second video signal to the first conference site. 3. An apparatus comprising: a local conference table comprising a top surface, a front section and a rear section, wherein a first width of the rear section is the less than a second width of the front section and a length of the rear section is substantially equal to the length of the front section; anda plurality of monitors arranged along the rear section of the local conference table, each monitor configured to display a different portion of a top surface of a front section of a remote conference table, wherein the different portions of the top surface of the front section of the remote conference table are displayed such that the top surface of the rear section of the local conference table appear to be continuous with the displayed top surface of the front section of the remote conference display. 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein: a third width of a third portion of the front section of the remote conference table displayed on the plurality of monitors is less than a fourth width of a fourth portion of the front section of the of the remote conference table; anda total width of the first width and third width is substantially equal to the second width. 5. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein: the front section of the local conference table comprises a front edge having a contour; andthe plurality of monitors are arranged to substantially mirror the contour of the front edge of the front section of the local conference table. 6. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the plurality of monitors are collectively arranged such that the different displayed portions of the front section of the remote conference table substantially replicates a shape and alignment of the front section of the remote conference table. 7. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the plurality of monitors are configured to display at least one remote participant in near life-sized proportions. 8. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the local conference table comprises a low gloss top surface. 9. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the front section of the local conference table is similar in appearance to the front section of the remote conference table.
