In one embodiment, the cleaning composition is substantially free of alkyl phenol ethoxylates. The cleaning composition is capable of removing soils including up to 20% proteins. The cleaning compositions include a biorenewable, environmentally friendly alternative to nonyl phenol ethoxylates and exhibit superior cleaning of food soils.

The composition of claim 1 wherein said acid source is phosphoric acid. 3. The composition of claim 1 wherein said water conditioning agent is EDTA. 4. The cleaning composition of claim 1 wherein said cleaning composition comprises less than about 0.5% by weight alkyl phenol ethoxylates. 5. The cleaning composition of claim 1, wherein the betaine functionalized alkyl polypentoside alkyl polyglucoside mixture component constitutes between about 35% and about 50% by weight of the cleaning composition. 6. The cleaning composition of claim 1, wherein the water conditioning agent constitutes between about 4% and about 8% by weight of the cleaning composition. 7. The cleaning composition of claim 1, wherein the water constitutes between about 40% and about 90% by weight of the cleaning composition. 8. The cleaning composition of claim 1, wherein the acid source constitutes between about 0.1% and about 0.55% by weight of the cleaning composition. 9. The cleaning composition of claim 1, further comprising a solvent. 10. The cleaning composition of claim 9 wherein said solvent is selected from the group consisting of isopropyl alcohol, lower alkanols, lower alkyl ethers, glycols, aryl glycol ethers and lower alkyl glycol ethers, methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol and butanol, isobutanol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, mixed ethylene-propylene glycol ethers, ethylene glycol phenyl ether, and propylene glycol phenyl ether. propylene glycol methyl ether, propylene glycol propyl ether, dipropylene glycol methyl ether, tripropylene glycol methyl ether, ethylene glycol butyl ether, diethylene glycol methyl ether, diethylene glycol butyl ether, ethylene glycol dimethyl ether, ethylene glycol propyl ether, diethylene glycol ethyl ether, triethylene glycol methyl ether, triethylene glycol ethyl ether, and triethylene glycol butyl ether. 11. The cleaning composition of claim 1, wherein the cleaning composition has a pH of between about 6.5 and about 10. 12. The hard surface cleaner of claim 10, wherein the betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside component constitutes between 10% and 65% by weight of the hard surface cleaner. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein said soil includes up to about 20% proteins. 14. The method of claim 12, wherein diluting the cleaner with water of dilution comprises diluting at weight ratio of cleaner to water of dilution of up to about 1:256. 15. The method of claim 12, wherein the cleaner comprises less than about 0.5% by weight alkyl phenol ethoxylates. 16. A method of removing soils from a surface, the method comprising: (a) diluting a cleaner according to claim 1, with water of dilution to form a use solution; (b) ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), an acid source, and water, said cleaning composition having a pH of from 6.5 to 10;(b) contacting the surface with the use solution. 17. A hard surface cleaning composition comprising: (a) a betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside component derived from a renewable carbon source such as corn or coconut and consisting primarily of a C12 betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside, a C12 and C14 blend of a betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside or a C14 betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside which includes less than 0.5% by weight of any betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside with a carbon chain length of other than 12 or 14; (b) ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA);(c) an acid source; and(d) water. 18. The hard surface cleaning composition of claim 17, wherein the betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside has an alkyl moiety containing primarily about 12 or primarily 14 carbon atoms. 19. The hard surface cleaning composition of claim 17 wherein said betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside has an alkyl moiety consisting primarily of a 50/50 blend of 12 and 14 carbon atoms. 20. The hard surface cleaner of claim 17, wherein the betaine functionalized alkyl polyglucoside component is derived from one or more of the following: corn and/or coconut.
