A tool system is disclosed having a body including a handle extending therefrom, a detachable head including a working tool, and a multi-part connector for detachable connecting the head to the body, the connector including opposed, flexible members positioned on the body towards an end of the body and means on the head for connecting with the opposed flexible members, the opposed flexible members and the means for connecting with the flexible members working in concert to detachably secure the head to the body. The handle of the tool system can be offset with respect to the axis of the body and the detachable head.

A method for interchangeably connecting a plurality of paint working tools with a common handle, the method comprising: providing a plurality paint working tools;providing a common handle for the paint working tools, the common handle having a hand gripping portion and a paint working tool engagement portion, wherein the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle is substantially aligned along a first axis and the hand gripping portion extends from the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle along a second axis, the second axis being at an angle that is offset from the first axis such that the first axis is offset in a downward direction from the hand gripping portion;providing a connection mechanism to interchangeably connect a selected one of the paint working tools to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle, the connection mechanism having an extension member extending from an end of the paint working tool engagement portion of the handle opposite the hand gripping portion of the handle, the connection mechanism further having at least one connection member, the at least one connection member positioned on the paint working tool engagement portion and attached to the common handle in such a way that it does not extend beyond the end of the extension member, a portion of the at least one connection member having an outward extension, the extension member having a hollow portion common to the at least one connection member, the outward extension of the at least one connection member positioned adjacent the common hollow portion, the portion of the at least one connection member having the outward extension designed to be movable between a first position and a second position into and out of the common hollow portion,providing, at one end of each of the paint working tools, a member having a recess designed to receive the extension member of the common handle and the at least one connection member within its recess, said end of each of the paint working tools having a space formed therein for receiving the outward extension of the at least one connection member,selecting a first paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle and subsequently removing the first paint working tool from the common handle, selecting a second paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle, and wherein the method further includes providing an energy member positioned within the hollow portion of the extension member configured to outwardly bias the portion of the at least one connection member having an outward extension and to provide a force to the at least one connection member when the at least one connection member is conveyed from the first position to the second position. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one connection member is a flexible tab member. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of paint working tools includes two or more of a brush head, a second brush head, a roller, a sponge, a paint scraper, a razor blade, a putty knife or a wire brush. 4. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of paint working tools is connectable to the paint working tool engagement portion along the first axis. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the energy member is a spring. 6. The method of claim 1, which further includes a providing paint pressure supply and a feed tube positioned inside of and along the length of the common handle, the paint pressure supply operable to displace paint through the feed tube from the hand gripping portion through the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle toward the selected one of the plurality of replaceable paint working tools. 7. The method of claim 1, further including the step of: outwardly biasing the at least one connection member when a selected one of the plurality of paint working tools is coupled with the common handle; andactuating the at least one connection member inwardly into the hollow portion of the extension member to decouple the selected one of the paint working tools from the common handle. 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the recess of each selected paint working tool is formed by a ferrule positioned at the one end of each selected paint working tool. 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle has opposed, substantially flat parallel sides and the at least one connection member is positioned on one of the, substantially flat sides thereof. 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the angle is in the range of about 100 to about 170 degrees. 11. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one connection member is formed as a part of the common handle. 12. The method of claim 1, wherein the connection member is provided with at least two connection members positioned opposite each other on opposite sides of the paint working tool engagement portion and adapted to be moved between a first position and a second position into and out of the common hollow portion. 13. The method of claim 12, further including biasing means positioned on the end of the common handle having the at least two opposed connection members for placing a biasing force against a selected paint working tool for pushing the selected paint working tool away from the common handle when the at least two opposed connection members are moved into the hollow portion of the extension member. 14. A method for interchangeably connecting a plurality of paint working tools with a common handle, the method comprising: providing a plurality paint working tools;providing a common handle for the paint working tools, the common handle having a hand gripping portion and a paint working tool engagement portion, wherein the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle is substantially aligned along a first axis and the hand gripping portion extends from the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle along a second axis, the second axis being at an angle that is offset from the first axis such that the first axis is offset in a downward direction from the hand gripping portion;providing a connection mechanism to interchangeably connect a selected one of the paint working tools to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle, the connection mechanism having an extension member extending from an end of the paint working tool engagement portion of the handle opposite the hand gripping portion of the handle, the connection mechanism further having a plurality of connection members, at least two of the connection members positioned opposite each other on opposite sides of the paint working tool engagement portion and attached to the common handle in such a way that they do not extend beyond the end of the extension member, a portion of the at least two connection members each having an outward extension, the extension member having a hollow portion common to the at least two connection members, the outward extension of the at least two connection members positioned about the common hollow portion, the portion of the at least two connection members having the outward extension designed to be movable between a first position and a second position into and out of the common hollow portion,providing, at one end of each of the paint working tools, a member having a recess designed to receive the extension member of the common handle and the at least two opposed connection members within its recess, said end of each of the paint working tools having spaces formed therein for receiving the outward extensions of the at least two opposed connection members,selecting a first paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle and subsequently removing the first paint working tool from the common handle, selecting a second paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle;outwardly biasing the at least two opposed connection members when a selected one of the plurality of paint working tools is coupled with the common handle; andactuating the at least two opposed connection members inwardly into the common hollow portion of the extension member to decouple the selected one of the paint working tools from the common handle,wherein the hollow portion of the extension member is provided with a spring member, and the actuating includes pressing the at least two opposed connection members against the spring to decouple the selected one of a plurality of paint working tools from the common handle. 15. The method of claim 14, wherein the recess of each selected paint working tool is formed by a ferrule positioned at the one end of each selected paint working tool and the ferrule includes the spaces formed in the working tool for receiving the outward extensions of the at least two opposed connection members. 16. The method of claim 15, wherein the ferrule has a side wall and the spaces for receiving the outward extensions of the at least two opposed connection members are formed in the side wall of the ferrule. 17. The method of claim 14, wherein the at least two opposed connection members are flexible tab members. 18. A method for interchangeably connecting a plurality of paint working tools with a common handle, the method comprising: providing a plurality paint working tools;providing a common handle for the paint working tools, the common handle having a hand gripping portion and a paint working tool engagement portion, wherein the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle is substantially aligned along a first axis and the hand gripping portion extends from the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle along a second axis, the second axis being at an angle that is offset from the first axis such that the first axis is offset in a downward direction from the hand gripping portion;providing a connection mechanism to interchangeably connect a selected one of the paint working tools to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle, the connection mechanism having an extension member extending from an end of the paint working tool engagement portion of the handle opposite the hand gripping portion of the handle, the connection mechanism further having a plurality of connection members, at least two of the connection members positioned opposite each other on opposite sides of the paint working tool engagement portion and attached to the common handle in such a way that they do not extend beyond the end of the extension member, a portion of the at least two connection members each having an outward extension, the extension member having a hollow portion common to the at least two connection members, the outward extension of the at least two connection members positioned about the common hollow portion, the portion of the at least two connection members having the outward extension designed to be movable between a first position and a second position into and out of the common hollow portion,providing, at one end of each of the paint working tools, a member having a recess designed to receive the extension member of the common handle and the at least two opposed connection members within its recess, said end of each of the paint working tools having spaces formed therein for receiving the outward extensions of the at least two opposed connection members,selecting a first paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle and subsequently removing the first paint working tool from the common handle, selecting a second paint working tool and removably attaching it to the paint working tool engagement portion of the common handle,wherein the at least two opposed connection members are flexible tab members;wherein the recess of each selected paint working tool is formed by a ferrule positioned at the one end of each selected paint working tool and the ferrule includes the spaces formed in the working tool for receiving the outward extensions of the at least two opposed connection members; andfurther including biasing means positioned within the hollow portion of the extension member for biasing the portion of the flexible tab members having an outward extension outwardly from the common handle. 19. The method of claim 18, wherein the biasing means is a spring member. 20.
