A valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the blocking ring resides in a floating position in contact with the intermediate seat region in between the upper valve stem and the lower valve stem. 7. A valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the valve assembly is a double block and bleed type valve. 8. A valve assembly according to claim 1, further comprising an actuating system connected to the upper valve stem and the lower valve stem to move the stems between their respective closed and opened positions. 9.
